Hi folks. Coming to you from Canada. Hope you can help me.
Our north wall has aluminum siding on it, and is apparently leaking (and moldy) and in need of replacement. They siding guys are saying that they have to do the WHOLE house not just the north wall because the existing siding is no longer available. Apparently, the outside corner channels won't accept new siding?????? I don't understand why they can't stop at the corner, leave the outside corner channel alone and simply siding the new siding into it. They tried explaining it to my husband who then tried to explain it to me, but I don't get it.
Yes, the new siding will have a "different" look to it, but yah, so??? I can't afford the $15,000 to do the whole house right now. The north wall will cost only $2-3000.
Can anyone explain in laygirl terms why we can't do this?
Thanks.
P.S. Great forum site!
