Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 22Dec 19, 2009 5:45 pm Twiggy Well the awesome part is we get to wait until August till the land titles. So ahh that's what about 9 months? Yeah it'll be a very long, torturous wait I think. The upside though is it gives us time to fix our current house up a little to get some more money for selling and we're not quite as rushed in that aspect. Feel free to drive out there, just be prepared to go for some swimming in mud The roads are pretty limited at the moment, as stage 1 has only just started building, so the rest of the roads will come in time. It's so quiet out there though. It's odd to get used to...although that won't last too long at a guess Hopefully the titles arent as delayed as they were in ww. Had coffee with your mum and dad the other night and they were telling me about your house choice. I am jealous, thats the house I wanted. Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 23Dec 19, 2009 9:03 pm Yeah they're pretty nice houses. We were originally looking at the Queenstown, but liked the layout a little better on the Illoura. We're hoping the delay won't be too long on it. There's about a years gap between stage 2 and 3 so it shouldn't be long on the delay...shouldn't Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 24Dec 20, 2009 7:55 am we also liked the Churchill. But since this is our first house it was basically a toss up b/w a prestige home and no furniture or the foxley house and furniture. we chose the house + furniture. still really happy with our house choice though (if it ever gets built) and not too much difference size wise. Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 25Dec 20, 2009 8:22 am Yeah size wise they're all pretty much on par (Unless you drop down again to the Access) I don't know why you'd want to sleep in a bed though...perfectly good floor under your feet Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 27Dec 20, 2009 3:48 pm Yeah the pug hasn't spent the night on the floor too often. He owns the bed...Actually I think he's under the impression it's his house Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 29Dec 28, 2009 7:53 am Nice pics of the block. I think you should wear the Cats jumper in every single block/house related photo from now We took a drive out to Mandalay yesterday (amongst other places). Had no idea there was even an estate there... we have friends just up passed the pub, but we'd never ventured out west of the Hume. Nice sized blocks in stage 3, but almost all of them have easements. Do you know what price they're asking for those? Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 30Dec 28, 2009 8:14 am Haha I will try and wear one of my jersey's in each pic...thought you'd appreciate that at least...Oh I've got a long sleeved one, so at least I don't have to freeze in winter pics Yeah there are a lot with easements in that lot. We got one without, which was fortunate more than anything. In the week from when we originally went out there and picked a block we liked to going back to make more definate moves on it, the block we now have became free again so we took that instead. We're in stage 3 (if you didn't figure) with a 612m block and that was $148,500. There's only a few left in stage 3, but they're all around that general price (Excluding the golf course backing lots, which are around $200k). The original one we were looking at with the easement was $150k, but it was a meter longer Stepping up to stage 4, the same sized lot was $154,000 off memory Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 36Jan 03, 2010 10:25 pm I can't believe there is now an estate in Beveridge!!! Guess they'll have to upgrade the station. Don't want to rain on your parade (no pun intended) but is there any chance of building on stumps and not a slab - that area gets so very, very wet, I can clearly remember it under water and I mean under water - flooded paddocks, knee deep in places. Used to ride horses through it. Re: Mandalay - Beveridge 37Jan 11, 2010 7:55 pm Yeah I can see what you mean in relation to water retention/flooding. We went down there last week, a full week after the rain from New Years and our road looked kinda like this.
