I have just heard back from the bank and the valuer has upped our valuation by the 30K we need... yayyyyyyy. So now we can foot the bill ourselves and we don't need to borrow any money off anyone... yayyyyy, I am soooooo happy. It still means we need to come up with money at the end of the build for floors, driveway, gardens etc, as we are now using the money we had saved for that, but who cares, we can build our house and save again while it's being built. Again... yayyyyy, so relieved Congratulations, I cannot believe that a valuer came up 30k on his original "expert" valuation. I know what I would do if i was a bank ... SEND THE VALUER BACK TO SCHOOL TO LEARN ANOTHER TRADE !!! Happy 2010 To Everyone !! Still crazy about my new kitchen, link removed by my request The bathroom is next on the list, coming soon !!! SEND THE VALUER BACK TO SCHOOL TO LEARN ANOTHER TRADE !!! I know, and that was based on me doing 5 minutes research and finding two block in our street worth comparing against!! To be honest, I don't think they even went out and had a look at our land. The area we are in has an established part and a brand new part. We are in the established part, well there is only about 4 blocks unbuilt on in quite a long street, and I think they just based it on the average, which is from the new part, where prices are a lot lower. The part that we are in, not much is on the market, and all the houses are bigger and higher spec and worth that little bit extra. You're already working harder than the 'experts'. Careful, you need a "valuation licence", probably get one from the "Special K" box where the "expert" got his. Enough said, I'm glad it worked out for you, people are people, no-ones perfect. Sounds like this valuer is further from perfect than most ! Happy 2010 To Everyone !!
