In 50 years time you'll be (hopefully) admiring those wooden floors and what a great decision you made. Re: What will you NEVER get sick of seeing? 5Dec 09, 2009 2:19 pm gettingThere For me it would be: Timber flooring throughout the whole house I'd have to add stone (as in engineered stone not granite) to the list also. I'm a big fan of it over laminate finishes. I never get sick of seeing it. Re: What will you NEVER get sick of seeing? 6Dec 09, 2009 2:19 pm Big solid stained timber posts (on verandahs/fences etc). Stained timber windows with a rendered facade (I just love the look). Polished concrete floors Geelong Football Club flags etc in people's front windows Re: What will you NEVER get sick of seeing? 7Dec 09, 2009 2:22 pm aaron4erin ::kiss:: Big solid stained timber posts (on verandahs/fences etc). When the valuer came to assess our old house (on behalf of the purchaser) by the time he got to the front door to see the inside he said I already know it will be fine - I can tell just by looking at your garden Re: What will you NEVER get sick of seeing? 16Dec 09, 2009 3:52 pm Helyn gettingThere What house related things do you think you will never get sick of? settle down TDL - read the thread properly Sorry...scantily clad women....in houses... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: What will you NEVER get sick of seeing? 17Dec 09, 2009 3:52 pm to_do_list Helyn gettingThere What house related things do you think you will never get sick of? settle down TDL - read the thread properly Sorry...scantily clad women....in houses... Re: What will you NEVER get sick of seeing? 18Dec 09, 2009 3:55 pm My answer..... NOTHING. I think that every single thing/selection we become tired of eventually. That's why I chose things I loved for my home, even if I thought I may get sick of them. I'd rather get sick of things that I truly loved at the beginning, than get sick of something that I chose to be "safe" and never really loved. You get sick of it ALL eventually. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I ignored anyone who said "it'll date" about any of my choices. I've been alive long enough to know that everything dates, so when I'm sick of something, I'll just change it. Hell, I had the obligatory apricot and grey in the late 80s. That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17888 Depends how much direct sun it gets. Is there any shading (eaves or trees)? If the sun hits a window directly it doesn't matter too much if it's double or single… 1 12671 9 24814 |
