What does everyone think has just been done to death? Obviously everyone will have a different opinion and hopefully no one gets offended. Personally I'm sick of seeing red but my hubby loves that look. I wouldnt mind a splash of purple but maybe thats a bit 80's.... What does everyone think has just been done to death? Obviously everyone will have a different opinion and hopefully no one gets offended. Personally I'm sick of seeing red but my hubby loves that look. I wouldnt mind a splash of purple but maybe thats a bit 80's.... Honestly, I'm not really sick of any one look or any thing in particular, because I don't often see the same thing all the time. I don't like red either, that's common knowledge, but I haven't seen it that often. I could say the Barcelona Chair is really common atm, but I have them and love them, so I don't care Re: What are you sick of seeing? 4Dec 08, 2009 9:45 pm I am sick of beige. And Hog Bristle (or equivalent), Hog Bristle half, Hog Bristle quarter paint. Every time I walk into a display home, that's what is on the walls. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I am personally sick to death of seeing COLOURLESS homes, whats wrong with a splash of colour??? Plain, boring, colourless homes DONT appeal to me personally and this is what I am sick of seeing! Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: What are you sick of seeing? 9Dec 08, 2009 11:58 pm I love Barcelona chairs. Classic! And I love stack stone, I've loved it since long before the current trend. Very Fallingwater! But yes, perhaps a little overused at the moment. I like how some people are doing variations of the look, like the tiles on one of the houses here and the crazy paving type feature wall on one of the display homes in Canberra. I get the feeling people are thinking oh everyone is getting that, we must have it... and then it turns into oh everyone's got that, we don't want it. I think you might be right about the stacker doors. Re: What are you sick of seeing? 14Dec 09, 2009 12:47 am I remember Aubergine colour being very prominent back in 2006.. it's still here Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! Re: What are you sick of seeing? 15Dec 09, 2009 6:48 am A past dislike and trend..............Remember round columns, they were everywhere about 15 years ago, every new house had to have them, we even put some inside our last home. When you look around now you know when these houses were built. I dislike round columns and am sick of seeing them, unfortunately they ain't goin nowhere. Re: What are you sick of seeing? 16Dec 09, 2009 7:00 am dadandsue Folding stacker doors. I think when people realise how inconvenient they are they might quickly become old hat Do you mean bifolds? Why are they inconvenient? I obviously lived a very sheltered life. Totally missed seeing anything purple during the 80s, and round columns....? Or maybe I just live in a very un-trendy part of town. Me, I'm sick of front gardens with zero imagination. If you're not having lawn, people, then don't make a pseudo-lawn out of a big rectangle of mulch. It looks crap. Re: What are you sick of seeing? 17Dec 09, 2009 7:40 am CarolineJ Putting on my suit of heavy armour first....I am sick of wood look garage doors. There, I said it. Now I am running off to hide! We have a wood look garage door. We chose it back in the day when we first had our colour selections, its just been put on and I hate it! I agree with the colourless homes, not about the red as it's one of my favourite colours. Unfortunately, people do over use one colour. I should know, in the 80's my living room was dusty pink. When I came home with dusty pick lamps as well my husband said 'enough - take 'em back', lol! There is evidence of water on the head reveals. That could have happened during the build, or may be happening currently. There are water stains above a couple of windows… 2 2678 Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA.
