Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 02, 2009 11:04 am Good Morning, Not sure where to begin, so I am open to suggestions. My partner and I plan to either rebuild or extend up our current house which is in a court. I am not sure if we are allowed to extend up in a court, as I have never seen it done around our local area, but we plan to do this in 2 years time. I think or have heard that the procedures etc are quite lengthy so I was thinking: - Is it possible to go to a permit place to ask the question whether we can or cannot build or extend? - Does that cost money to ask them the question? - If we get the OK, can we start drawing up the plans? - How much do the plans/drawings/renovations cost and how much does it cost to alter things on the drawings? - When the plans are completed can you hold onto the drawings and start building in 2 years time instead of then and there? - Can anyone suggest any good/decent permit places in SE surburbs of Melbourne? Sorry for all the questions, however their is no point in me starting to save all my pennies if I cannot build. Figured it is easier to start planning now and at least I know where I stand and the approximate cost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am very clueless when it comes to all this and if I leave it up to my partner, it will never get done . Have a good day. Thanks No, not yet.
