Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 402Sep 15, 2010 11:19 am Hi Everyone, I am in Stage 9. Currently its just a vacant block as I plan to build next year sometime. I noticed someone dumped some junk on my block It's incredible how people are cruel like this, I have been to my block to clean it up as often as I can but I just can't keep up with it. Has anyone else experienced the same with their block? I look forward to building and greeting my new neighbours. This forum is a great Idea Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 403Sep 15, 2010 11:31 am Welcome Reflector, nice to meet you. We had concrete dumped on our block, took us a full afternoon to break it all up then another afternoon to remove the pieces. I'm with you, it's incredible how thoughtless some people are. You can try getting in touch with the council and reporting it, not that they will do much, but who knows, they might surprise you. Best of luck with it all though, hopefully it stops Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 404Sep 15, 2010 5:21 pm Hi Wizard, Concrete sounds even worse with all the work and time you have to put into cleaning that up. The worst experience we've had is when we drove past the block on a day with heavy rain and found dead chickens burried. We had to clean that up there and then or the smell would have gotten worse. Ended up soaked with mud everywhere. I have spoken to the council and they advised that unless we have evidence of whom is doing the dumping then they can't really do much. We have to keep our block clean or we could face a fine. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse. Thanks for your advice Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 405Sep 16, 2010 10:01 am Welcome Reflector! We too had a big lump of concrete and a couple of truck loads of soil dumped on us which resulted in a hefty removal bill. Wow dead chickens, that is disgusting! It's heartbreaking that people can do this. Can you put up a temporary fence to try and stop it? And do you have empty sites next to you as our problem appeared when the neighbouring sites began their work. Wow can't believe how much new building has began in the last couple of weeks, it's amazing how the area changes every month or so, very exciting. How are the new bricks/ brickies going wizard? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 406Sep 16, 2010 11:03 am Our brick work is coming along really well, here are a few photos of the progress Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So as of 6pm yesterday night, the front, dead side, back and about a quarter of the alfresco side of the house were done, minus under any windows. Hopefully they should be done by the end of next week. As for the inside of the house, there has still been no progress, not sure what the holdup is on getting anything done on the inside, hopefully it will all start happening very soon. Hope everyone else is going well. That small amount can be picked up in a plastic bag thou, I just can't stand the bigger rubish like TV's, sofas and all that stuff that is dumped by others as we cannot easily remove that. I can't wait until we build and move into a new house, right now I'm just working hard to pay my block of land and am excited to move into reflections eventually Wizard, that looks like great progress. Congrats How long does building normally take? And from everyones experience, what builder is recommended? Some have recommended going for a private builder rather than one of the bigger ones. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 408Sep 16, 2010 11:37 pm Hi everyone! We just signed our sales order for our block in stage 10 with PD. Hopefully we get a call soon to start the ball rolling, can't wait for the building to start. Wow Wizard those bricks looks so much better, you must be very relieved! Not much happening on our site but were happy to find a few red dots dotted around our interior and the strong smell of touch up paint. Hope everyone has a good week! Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 413Sep 21, 2010 11:49 pm thanks andy&meredith our csc said she'll give us a call Monday to reconfirm our tender & contract appointments but it's Tuesday and no word from her! We went to National tiles to look at the tiles and was so disappointed at the limited colors/designs offered We're going to another national tiles store to see if we can select from their range. Wizard - looking great, I'm so jealous of your bifolds... they look ace! And I'm glad to hear the brick situation is finally working itself out - hopefully they'll get cracking on the inside - it is amazing how quickly it all comes together though! Reflector - its greatly disappointed me to see how humanity acts when they think no one else is looking... I can't believe the crap which has been dumped in the area A&M - still have limbs crossed for you guys to hear soon, I'd be so frustrated if I wasn't getting regular updates from our SS and CSO. Mark&Liz - Congrats! The fun seriously starts now, its so exciting seeing the progress as I'm sure you are finding out! We'll have to pop over for a perve Puppyso - we had issues with the tile selections as well, it was pitiful what we could choose from, or we could pay $500 and wait months for a tile selection appt - maybe your builder will let you do something like this, or allows you to pay the difference for tiles you do like? Sorry I've been quiet, just haven't had much progress to report about.. We're in the process of defects rectification at the moment.. they're about halfway through our list now apparently, so progressing well and at this point on track for settlement, not next week, but week after (touch wood). Still a lot to do within this time mind you, so won't count my chickens.. Just had our driveway poured, and it looks pretty good, so happy with this. Just still hate that freaking orange door..and every day DP loves it just that little bit more Counting down now- can't wait to give notice on our rental - it will feel very real then!! Have a good week everyone and happy building Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 415Oct 05, 2010 3:23 pm Hi everyone! We just went to our tile appointment last week and it was good, except for the part when you see the quote! It's costing us another $4500++. Just wondering if anyone here is building with NBG or have built with them before. The estate has come a long way since the paddock days back in 2009! Hoping to get started in the new year sometime! Happy Building all! Really looking to having our driveway done as going out with 2 kids and the mud is a tactical nightmare! Hope everyone else is progressing well with their builds. wizard, must check your thread but wow your new bricks look amazing! You guys must be very happy with them and relieved. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 418Oct 17, 2010 9:13 pm Hi everyone, will probably be building early next year and getting a bit concerned about the potential for dumped rubbish, do we need permission for temporary fencing from the council? We have also noticed some of the pegs in our stage have been a bit dislodged by builders temporary fencing on the adjacent side and wandered whether we should measure the block ourselves. Should we expect any variance on size from what we have been sold, and what happens if there's any encroachment on your block from your neighbours? Mel & Darren building Dennis Masden 28 Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 419Oct 19, 2010 9:18 am Welcome reflections, good luck with all the organisation of your build, hope it all goes well for you. A&M, a big congrats on moving in, we might have to pop in and say hi when we have a bit of time. Hope your loving your home. Darrmelonia, we measured our block ourselves too, you paid for a block with certain measurements and that is what you should be getting, if your block doesn’t measure up properly, I would get a surveyor in to check it all out. Your builder will probably have to do this anyway, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. As for us, we still have no idea when we will be in, it pains us to think that we should have been in nearly 3 weeks ago, but the main thing is that it is all coming along now. Fit off is happening this week, beyond that, I’m not sure… We have our fingers crossed that we find out a PCI date either this week or next week, we got to walk through the house the other day while the tillers were finishing up their work. Seeing the tiles has finally put the excitement back into the build. Hope everyone else is well and traveling along well, or enjoying their beautiful homes. Im in Queensland and building a new home. We managed to reach practical completion 6 weeks ago but we haven't heard any date for handover yet. Who should we… 0 3052 This is one of the reasons I decided to go overseas for my double glazed windows.
