Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 28, 2009 2:47 pm I have an exsisting single garage attached to my house which has been converted to a room by the previous owner, the problem I have is that there is a 50mm step down into the room from a door way in my kitchen, this wouldnt be an issue except that I want to remove a section of the wall and extend my kitchen into the back qauter of this space, leaving the front 3/4 for another bedroom. Now because the new kitchen will span across the section that steps down I will need to raise the floor about 40-50mm, being that the floor in conrete what would be the easyest/best/cheapest way to do this? poor a new 50mm slab ontop of the exsisting.? or is there a product/solution that would be better.? thanks Re: Raising Concrete Floor.? 2Nov 28, 2009 4:02 pm What is on the existing kit floor? Because we have floorboards in some rooms they are 34mm higher then the slab and the tiles would have only been 10mm so this was put down to make the floor even. Its called scr....?? Re: Raising Concrete Floor.? 10Nov 29, 2009 12:15 pm a new concrete slab over the exsisting is looking like the best way to go, being that the new concrete will get poured inside the 2x4 frame work of the house will there need to be some sort of seperation barrier(plastic sheet?) between the 2x4 and the concrete.? and would I need Rio in the new slab seeing as its only going to be about 40-50mm in thickness.?
