Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 11, 2009 1:14 pm So we purchased a Sharp Carousel microwaves less then 4 months ago from the Good Guys. We purchased the sharp carousel as we had a white one that had been great for many years, but wanted stainless steel to match the kitchen. The light doesn't work anymore!! I called Sharp and they said to speak to the local service centre.. So I rang the local service centre and the guy there seemed to think the lamp isn't covered under the 12mth warranty. So I asked him how much it costs to replace and he said there's a $50 labour charge and then the globe cost. So I asked him how much the globe would cost and he said he couldn't tell me because there are a lot of different models and it would be better to bring it in. I told him I could tell him which model it was as I had all the details and he said he was busy and in the middle of something and it was best to just bring it in. So who knows how much it could cost. Does this sound right? ITS ONLY FOUR MONTHS OLD!!!! Building with PD - Regent 23 Cascades on Clyde Estate HomeOne Building Thread - PCI Completed - 28th August. Like you we had a white one previously, had it for about 12 years until last year it started making a loud noise and then stopped We bought another Carosel (I think Kek has the same one too) but in the s/s R-395F(S) for the new house. At least once I week the light goes out and it stops working all together. I have to turn it off at the wall and back on again, re-set the clock and it works again..........nothing can be found wrong with it I'd be inclined to take it in and get them to replace the bulb if that is the problem. I wouldn't pay for it though. Happy at Home Re: 4mth old Microwave Oven - light not working? 3Nov 11, 2009 1:40 pm That's our microwave!! I'm thinking it must be a common problem then.. and therefore something wrong with the microwave. We did try turning it off at the power and then back on again.. but this didn't fix it. Not happy. I wonder if there have been many of the same complaints about this model? Building with PD - Regent 23 Cascades on Clyde Estate HomeOne Building Thread - PCI Completed - 28th August. This just makes me so mad. Why do consumers keep getting ripped off? It's just not fair. Why can't they make things like they used to? I'll definately be calling sharp and giving them a piece of my mind when I have some free time. Re: 4mth old Microwave Oven - light not working? 6Nov 11, 2009 2:14 pm Yep common problem! Ours still works fine with cooking/heating just once a week or so it has a meltdown Good luck! Hope they fix the for you But yes you are right, you save and pay good money for these applicances, they should work properly and they should last for years Happy at Home Re: 4mth old Microwave Oven - light not working? 7Nov 11, 2009 2:20 pm we had the entire front control panel stop working on our LG microwave just outside "normal" warranty time lucky we got the extended warranty Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7515 That was always going to be a challenge and a test of patience. Full marks to your mate. Did you discuss the wet area near the trampoline? 16 17320 Okay sorry silly me, my wife has solves the mystery for me. It’s because the labels on the ports are all wrongly positioned by the builder hence it confuses me. 2 1373 |
