Not sure where you are Trepidman, but in WA it's quite common practice for a builder to do driveway crossovers as part of the build. And seeing as my friend is paying the builder to do it, if there are any problems I think it's reasonable to expect the builder to sort them out Outside the suburbs it is also common in Victoria for the builder to do the crossover if none exist(and not an estate). Doesn't change the fact that they are doing it on behalf of the owner. Just like builders submit plans to council on behalf of the owner. They can and have shrugged the responsibility if it becomes an issue. It does sound like the builder is being a bit prissy. One rejection and they make it the owners problem is disappointing. I'm glad they sorted it out for your friend, otherwise we couldn't laugh at the builder. Gravity. Its the law.
