Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 25, 2009 12:37 pm Our floor for our second storey has been up for a month now. We still don't have a roof so in the last 4 weeks it's rained quite a bit (including today's massive deluge) and there has also been a few really hot sunny days. How long can the flooring withstand these conditions? My FIL thinks it might get ruined as it swells with all the moisture. I don't want a squeaky uneven floor. I'm sure there must be some sort of standard length of time that it should be able to handle the elements? How long? Has it been too long already? My SS told me last week that the roof would be done by this week but with all the rain forecast and no makings of a roof in site I'm a little weary!! Re: Second Storey Floor Exposure 2Oct 25, 2009 9:28 pm I don't know how long it can be exposed, but I would inspect the floor and if you are not happy with the condition it is in after being exposed I would be asking for it to be replace. Also get onto the supplier/manufacturer of the subflooring they must have some guidelines for the product.
