We are trying to use as many natural materials as possible and reducing the amount of artificial products ie only using wood panelling rather than .... (god sorry pregnant brain) you know what you normally clad walls with! So I am having a look at alternatives to melamine/mdf for wardrobes... it looks like these days they only use melamine for the internals of a built-in. Does anyone know if these kind of wardrobes still exist (surely they must have before the craze of melamine?) or is this going to be again some crazy DIY jobby? Thanks for any help anyone can offer. Re: Melamine Alternatives for Built-in Wardrobe 2Oct 21, 2009 1:01 pm Hi , once they used to make wardrobes from a 2x 1 frame and then clad it with ply .( you could use the timber wall cladding ) This is one option , instead of using Plaster board ( the one you could not think off ) Hope you go well with the Eco bit and what are you going to use for power ? What other eco bits are you going to incorporate into the design.?
