Just go to www dot productreview dot com dot au - and then enter the product name. Oh, and I must admit that I got it wrong - I thought yours was the LG LD-14AW2 .... that's the one with 96 reviews. Sorry about the mistake. Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 7Oct 17, 2009 7:53 pm Thanks bigdennis I will go have a look. HN lowered it quite substantially Then on the Sunday DH & I went back to GG who lowered the price by a few dollars on each item & we told him we were going back to HN's so he said, do that & come back & we'll match it So back to HN's armed with new quote & DH HN ended up lowering AGAIN & we ended up going with them plus $250 cutlery set as a promotion thrown in go between these two - they will fight to the finish. We were rapt with our products & price Jazzie Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 9Oct 17, 2009 8:52 pm Jazzie omg can you come shopping with me??? lol I might try that tomorrow. I want to ring up GG and get a requote with a different dishwasher first and then I'll head over to HN. I'll post tomorrow when I get back...see if I have as much luck Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 10Oct 17, 2009 8:56 pm When we have purchased whitegoods, Hoppers Crossing Retravision has substantially beaten both the Good Guys and Harvey Norman every time ! Thanks, I'll give Retravision a go too. I don't care where I get them from as long as its the best possible price. I've just worked out that I've put $10k more into the home loan as a deposit than I should have...leaving me bugger all for appliances. Yep I'm an idiot!!!! klscomps HI Eljay in regards to the dryer, what warranty period is it? The warranty for it was 2 years. I think all of them were 2 years actually. But I'd probably get an extra year on to be on the safe side. I have a bad track record of having things just get out of warranty and then they stop working Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 13Oct 18, 2009 3:41 pm I've got a price for the Fisher Paykel sensor dryer for my brother and a friend @ $534 each with 5 year warranty. I have this particular dryer and love it and my Mum also had the same dryer but it has just died. Hers was one of the first ones out so quite a few years old. My price is based on 2 of the dryers, 2 front load washing machines and 2 pedestal stands but you should be able to get a better price as you had all the other items as well. My price is from Good Guys as I always end up with the best price from them on white goods. Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 14Oct 31, 2009 6:17 pm Me again Well, I have put away the rangehood, dishwasher (bosch not LG) and the dryer. I'm still stuck on the oven. I like the Omega because the litre size of the oven is HUGE!!! 121 litres. But it doesn't have safety cut off and a couple of other things. Was looking at this one at the GG and they will hold all the appliances for me until the house is ready. Harvey norman will hold for 3 months only Today I went to HN and saw their Ariston 90cm oven. Nice, but a lot more expensive than the poor ole Omega. But...it has the catalitic(spelling?) liners, rotisserie, triple glazed doors and safety cut off. They had it in the store for $3499, then discounted to $2999, then a further cut down to $2400. So it would be $610 more to get it. Soooooo What would you do... go with the cheaper one for $1790 or stretch your budget by $600 and go the better one?? Is it worth it??? If I went the Ariston one, I'd probably have to go back tomorrow and pay for it in full. I always feel guilty when spending so much money and tend not too lol Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 15Nov 02, 2009 9:55 am Hi Frogger, Don't forget that catalytic ovens may need the catalytic liners replaced if they stop working properly. They work by absorbing the fat that is spattered on them. Periodically, they can be refreshed by heating them, but I understand that over time they can lose their ability to absorb the fat. This is not the case with pyrolytic ovens. Choice, writing about pyrolytic ovens, says "We’d recommend it to anyone who can afford it." Pyrolytic costs more, but over the expected life of an oven, we think the extra is worthwhile. My DW says that if you use something often, and if paying what might work out to be only a little extra per year of the life of the appliance makes your life easier, then the higher purchase price is worthwhile. Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 16Nov 02, 2009 11:43 am Omega Think of all the other places you could spend $600+ I think not worth it. The Omega one sounds like it would more than do the job.... and put some of the extra $ into an extended warranty. Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 17Nov 02, 2009 12:04 pm Check newspapers and junk mail for advertised specials and compare. Sometimes you can find an online catalouge. Also appliancesonline com au and bigbrownbox could give you some cost ideas. I think I may have gotten the smaller size dryer but it is plenty big enough for the 2 of us - I dont weigh the clothes though but I guess I do overload it! Sensor dryers are great. I'm sure it was well under $400. Dont spend more than you have to -eg. $600 for an oven that has more features that you'll never use. Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 18Nov 02, 2009 12:06 pm Hi Buzz, We are all different. I view extended warranties as a waste of money and would prefer to spend the money that would cost on a more expensive item if that made it easier or better to use. Just as well we are all different or the world would be less interesting; we'd all live in identical houses, for example. Hang on, the house about four doors up from us is identical, even down to the appliances installed and the tiles on the kitchen floor. Oh, dear. What does that say about me? Lucky we're only renting whilst waiting for OUR house to be completed. Can't wait. Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 19Nov 02, 2009 2:00 pm Yes, if you can afford the extra in the first place for a better quality, with more features (that you will use) appliance... go for it. I don't think the Omega is cr@ppy, so for the extra $600 would frogger get her money's worth? I only suggested the extended warranty, for some it is peace of mind. buzz Re: Appliances...is this a good deal??? 20Nov 02, 2009 6:50 pm I'm another who recommends try RetraVision. The salesman we had was extremely nice and beat every quote we threw at him. Good Guys salesman was ruuuuuuuude and refused to come to the party with a good price. They were staying put on their "cash" price regardless of how much I needed to buy for my house, what a load of rubbish! 9 24990 Thank you.
