A good quality solar system will generate its Kilo-Wattage in Kilowatt Hours for every good hour of daylight you get (i.e. 1kw system will produce 1kwh for every good hour. Vic gets around 4 hours of solid good daylight during the day (usually sometime between 10am - 3pm). Best to look at the worst case scenario and be delighted with the performance rather then plan for it to cover all of your usage and then be horrified when you get your first bill.
