Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 14, 2009 8:41 pm Im looking to get my whole house re-plastered. The current house has plastered walls but they also have frames and beams which make the walls look very unattractive and uneven. I want all walls even and no sign of trims or frames half way up the wall. What are new houses quoted to get plastered because i intend to remove the old plaster myself. Its a 4 bedroom house. Re: Getting a whole house re-plastered. 4Oct 15, 2009 9:01 pm I would ber guessing that an asbestos or building inspection for that period of housing might be a safe bet. If it is in the roof, you might be up for some serious coin to get it safely removed. Re: Getting a whole house re-plastered. 6Oct 16, 2009 6:22 pm Are they the old picture rails on the wall ? I wonder if removed you could stop up the board and clean up the wall. As for the cost of plaster, to supply and fix (and stop up), you would be looking at a minimum of $18/m2 (in Vic that is anyway) Blog is now up - http://www.jbdave.blogspot.com/ Re: Getting a whole house re-plastered. 7Oct 16, 2009 6:50 pm Rang my builder mate, here they allow $14 sq. metre in quotes for all plastering requirements Re: Getting a whole house re-plastered. 8Oct 17, 2009 8:33 pm Cheers for the advice guys. I intend to get a building report done if i decide to purchase but there is no way i will be buying the house if it has aspestos throughout as the removal as stated above is costly. I have been told its about 15k to get the whole house replastered which is ok and would give the inside of the house a new look about it. the current situation has it looking untidy with all the trimmings and frames in place. Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
