Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 14, 2009 4:07 pm Apologies if this is not the right spot for this topic. My excuse is I'm new. I recently saw a post on smooth face bricks (pearl grey etc). Does anyone have any pics of the Escura smooth face range they have built with? I really like the pearl grey and cinnamon but can't decide on a 3rd colour nor how the front colour scheme will go. Re: Escura smooth face bricks 3Oct 16, 2009 7:49 pm We were originally going to go with Blue Rain for the whole house. It's now something we have changed our minds on and have decided on the smooth face. However, we still love the blue bricks and may use them as a feature wall or something. Re: Escura smooth face bricks 5Oct 21, 2009 6:49 pm Hi dollar, I took the pearl grey sample and I think it's a great colour. But since I read in this forum about Boral bricks performance, I changed my mind and now I'm considering Austral Symmetry Asphalt (it's also smooth face). Some people here said that Boral bricks chips 40% during the delivery. So I'm not taking any risk. Dollar Apologies if this is not the right spot for this topic. My excuse is I'm new. We however do not like the Austral blue range so therefore going for the Vic Blue and some smooth face at the front. Thanks everyone for the replies. Len you are spot on. We have found Boral very helpful so far and have provided us with addresses etc of where such bricks have been used. You would think the brick companies would have a better web page displaying a range of examples rather than a 5x5 square image....lol. Re: Escura smooth face bricks 7Nov 20, 2009 11:18 pm Just to add to this....we saw 1st lot of our bricks...hardly any bricks were chipped and we are extremely happy. Re: Escura smooth face bricks 9Nov 21, 2009 11:10 am I guess they can't guarantee that all bricks will be free of damage. Think of transport and unloading and loading. Really it shouldn't happen but from what I saw there was probably 10 damaged if that. I would probably render it and then paint it as per your other advice, or gyrpock over the top. 1 3339 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair to do it properly you need to dig out the garden and waterproof the outside of the wall.
