Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 10, 2009 11:08 pm Hi everyone, I am new and long winded so be kind please. I want to line our lounge/TV room with plaster board and I am on a limited budget. I am confident I can do the job myself however I need some tips on the correct method of fastening the plaster to the various surfaces in this room. Two opposite walls are cavity brick and the other two opposite walls are tongue and groove cyprus pine, secret nailed to stud walls. (the bricks are very dark and the timber has aged quite dark also and we want to brighten up the place and eliminate the dust that collects on the rough brick walls). The gable ceiling (also tongue and groove cyprus) is of the cathedral style, with exposed 125mm rafters resting on 250mm laminated beams. There is virtually no ceiling space and the the room is very warm in summer. I would like to fill between the rafters with pink bats and fit a plaster board ceiling under the rafters to retain the insulation. Q1. What preparation, adhesive and method should be used to attach plaster board to the brick walls? Q2. Ditto the timber walls? Q3. Ditto the ceiling. Should I use battens? Thanks in advance, Bob.
