Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 09, 2009 1:31 pm Hi All, We've just bought a house and will be putting a new kitchen before we even move in. At the moment, the stove in the kitchen is electric. We are wanting to have a gas stove in the new kitchen. What do I need to do to get a gas connection in the new kitchen? Re: How to get gas in the kitchen?? 3Oct 09, 2009 2:10 pm You may want to inspect to see if there is already a conntection there hidden behind the plaster wall. Especially if the house is young. These days gas stove is very comman and a point is always put in the house regardless. Re: How to get gas in the kitchen?? 4Oct 09, 2009 3:33 pm Are there other gas appliances in the house? If so the pipework may be visible in the roof space and possibly where the plumber will connect on to. Arfur Re: How to get gas in the kitchen?? 5Oct 09, 2009 3:43 pm We'll be doing this to our kitchen. I went and had a chat to a nice lady at AGL who informed me that a "standard" gas connection to our house, including installation of a gas meter is $125. Standard = not having to dig, the connection not being overly long, and so on..... Re: How to get gas in the kitchen?? 6Oct 09, 2009 5:19 pm Thanks very much for the responses! The house is about 30-40 years old so definately not young and there are no other gas appliances in the house so I don't think there is a connection currently. I might give the energy company a call and discuss costs... thank you!! Re: How to get gas in the kitchen?? 9Oct 15, 2009 3:00 pm I've always found that onions and beans has been the best way to get gas in the kitchen. 4 10817 I want to build a decking to the drawn shape outlined in black. The problem is how close can I build to the gas hot water unit? Will I be able to build around it and be… 0 20220 you need a fridgie to answer but I would think you vac the whole system then add gas if you have a leak, unless it is new install with the gas already loaded, in that case… 1 3651 |
