Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 07, 2009 12:07 pm Hi, can anyone reccomend a builder in Australia, Victoria who specialises in rebuilding a home that was damaged by fire. The home was our investment property and the insurance won't pay so we have to rebuild it ourselves. Would appreciate any advice!! : ) Re: wanted a builder who specialises in fire damage rebuilding 2Oct 07, 2009 1:46 pm Do you have any local Assessing companies? They will have a record of their building & maintenance companies that they use and will be able to give you contact details for personnel. Alternatively, you can just go through your local yellow/white pages and get general builders to come and quote for you? Sorry that i'm unable to help you any further!! Re: wanted a builder who specialises in fire damage rebuilding 3Oct 07, 2009 3:08 pm Hi Jodie80, thanks for your advice. I have the quotes the insurance company used but they were really expensive. I have tried local builders but they say i need an engineers report and the insurance company's builders say i don;t so im not sure. So i was trying to find a builder that has experience with such repairs. Thats easier said than done though!!
