Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 04, 2009 8:18 am Hi Ok, so we have a reno contract (Fixed Priced) with floorboards at $75sq2 PC. We went to the builder recommended suppliers and wanted a board worth $100, retail. The people at the suppliers wouldn't tell use what price they would be supplying to the builder, but now I have an invoice from the builder for the $25 p/sq2 extra. Question is, when dealing with PC items, is the standard way, builder takes this amount at a retail price, or there actual buy price (ie including trade discount). Thanks Robin Re: PC items at retail or builders cost 2Oct 04, 2009 11:40 am Generally the builders add 15% to the price they pay. Does this $25 m2 extra include labour? Re: PC items at retail or builders cost 3Oct 04, 2009 2:46 pm In the HIA contract it says that the amount allowed for Provisional Sum Items or Prime Cost Items does not include an amount for builders profit and overheads, they are included in the contract price. It also says the builder should provide a copy of the receipt/invoice to the owner. In your case - maybe you could ask for this and say you're paying this? do you have a contract that states his profit/overheads? Go to an actual paint store, not bunnings. Dulux even have trade centers. Don't have to be a trade to but their paint. 1 14047 The best advice is for you to get a competent building consultant to guide you through your build 7 3782 Hi, This is my first post.
