Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 2Sep 29, 2009 2:38 pm there isnt much talk of this kind of thing here ive just taken delivery of my 7.6x6m shed so would be interested to see what others have done with their space. mine will house all of my junk and probably my camper trailer, and the only real item ill have for me is my gym stuff, it will be too hot for me to spend much time in it as an actual hide out, our climate in ippy would mean id need it air conditioned to be of much use in that Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. Being out near the bay in Brisbane probably will help a little with the heat in summer, but not much I think. Mine's got the wife's Xtrail, my tools and whatnot, plus a couch for the dogs, (yeah I know, don't ask), plus at least a motorcycle or 4. As well as racks for leathers, stereo, beer fridge, etc... Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 5Sep 29, 2009 2:51 pm I agree with you Dale, it would be great to see how people utilise garage space in a really efficient and tidy way... Anyone got garage pics? Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 6Sep 29, 2009 2:55 pm depending on where i build i plan on having a work shed/ garage/ lanning room, not too far away from the house just off a "court yard" has two entries one is the roller door for my work car, second is a double swing door.. will be mostly for my work stuff Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 7Sep 29, 2009 4:53 pm Our two-car garage fits ONE car, quite a bit of stored "stuff", an extra freezer, five bikes and associated gear, tools etc....and a small brewery. My husband used to spend a lot of time in his customised shed at our old place, but having less yard here, one car has been banished to the driveway and part of the garage has been designated his new play area. I find him in there, beer in hand, watching his latest brew going "bloop" in the fermenter, with a stupid smile on his face. He tells me it's very Zen. Looking for ideas and likeminded people. If you are renovating the kitchen in the new house it could always relocate to the shed. DH is going to squeeze our old one in the garage, along with 2 cars, 3 sets of golf clubs, an old freezer, camping stuff....the list goes on. So I will be able to visit my old kitchen often Not sure about available walking space though. His dream would be a house with a double garage plus a double shed. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 10Sep 29, 2009 11:54 pm I got about 40 photos of garages. That's my next project, decking out the garage. http://www.garageart.com/ sorry that's the only link I have saved. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 12Sep 30, 2009 8:25 am Google "show me your shed" and you'll find some ideas. Check out these ones http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=114038 Steve's on page 1 is tidier than my house. Gavin on page 2 has the luxury of tv's, surround sound, bar, pot belly stove, reverse cycle air-conditioning and seems thoughtful as well by soundproofing it. (Party Shed maybe ) Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 13Oct 06, 2009 7:59 am It seems that the prices for garage equipment goes waaay beyond what it's actually worth! Even pegboard hooks seem far too overpriced. I think I'll rip the old kitchen out a bit more carefully and install it in the workshop. Four wheels moves the body, two wheels moves the soul. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 14Oct 06, 2009 9:20 am Well...this is my old shed...sadly it had to be demolished to make way for an extension http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv18 ... Will show those to my hubby. He has plans for our shed (bar, gym etc) when we move into our house. As long as he leaves me some room to park a horse he can do what he likes with the rest of it Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 16Oct 06, 2009 10:23 am Good thread!! I've been planning my shed for quite a while now. Ideally I want to go 8x10 with an extra external bay to the side for a hoist. I'll have 3 bays in the shed, one for my ute, one for the kingswood wagon and the third one will be for a workspace. We're renovating our kitchen soon, so I'll be keeping all the old cupboards to use in the shed............would be a waste to throw them out, they're from around the 1950's. Hopefully I don't have to wait too much longer. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 17Oct 06, 2009 10:35 am "Not the Kingswood!!!" I've offered my shed as storage for 3 racebikes, (provided they leave the keys of course..) so it might be full for a while. I'm now reversing roles and badgering the wife for the new kitchen just to get my hands on the old one! Four wheels moves the body, two wheels moves the soul. I got the shock of my life when my wife mentioned that she'd like to park a car in the garage. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 18Oct 13, 2009 11:34 pm We are decking our shed out to live in while we build. DH is thrilled because once the house is built he is going to have the ultimate mancave, although I think the teenage kids may take it over. It is about 65m2 living area with a small workshop. We have done all the work ourselves, including surround sound!! Official moving in day is about 4 weeks - sad to think we'd rather be living in the mancave than our (soon to be demolished) house! 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 19Oct 13, 2009 11:59 pm Fu Manchu I got about 40 photos of garages.
