Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 21Oct 14, 2009 11:38 am This is gathering momentum! I'm about to measure up to gyprock the workshop.... Four wheels moves the body, two wheels moves the soul. I got the shock of my life when my wife mentioned that she'd like to park a car in the garage. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 22Oct 17, 2009 8:33 pm ohhh i love anything to do with garages and im probably one of very few women that do! My husband and i both ride and race bikes so we have the ultamite garage... the first garage you drive into is 9 meteres wide and 6 long, then the second garage follows into that which is 6 by 6- its big enough for our everyday rides to our race bikes and all the gear and hell the garage even has room for the bike trailer! For us its more about the garage/ shed then the actual house what do you ride? Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 23Oct 19, 2009 1:28 pm i dislike both of you while i sit here dreaming about my next bike ive got my stoner posters to go up in my shed, hoping to score a big megan fox poster as well to get the ball rolling. sat in the shed for a while on saturday and sunday watching the GP while i fiddled around in the yard, could get used to having a nice setup in there Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. Things nearly done. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 24Oct 19, 2009 3:02 pm I'm on holidays as of today and there's a K9 GSXR600 in the shed with 30km's on it. (That odometer readout will change significantly tomorrow, those tyres really need a good scrubbing in, once my chores are done...) Last weeks roster included a VRSCD Night Rod Harley, a Ducati GT1000, a Ducati Sport1000 Monoposto, Ducati ST2, a Honda CB600 and a Honda XR400 Motard. Why yes, I do love my job! Just installed a magnet-switch light that comes on when you open the door. That'll save me groping around in the dark for the main light switch. $15 from Bunnings! I also built a saw horse last weekend, since those collapsible ones tend to do just that, at the worst possible time. Four wheels moves the body, two wheels moves the soul. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 27Oct 19, 2009 5:10 pm i have an 03 ZX636 with 10,000 k's on it and a ZX6RR race bike.. dunno how many k's are on that!? plus the husband has a zxr400 race bike and z brand new matt ornage Triumph street triple R with not to many k's on the clock... Dont worry billdsl im sure you will get a bike within sometime even if we have bikes we still dream of a better/different bike at times. Gp was a good race- good to see Stoner up there! Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 28Oct 19, 2009 7:27 pm ZX6RR???? That's very rare! Is it the 05-06 model? I recently sold my 07 ZX6R commuter and I'm hoping to source a trackbike shortly, probably a VFR400 or something like that. Catcat, pics!!! Four wheels moves the body, two wheels moves the soul. I got the shock of my life when my wife mentioned that she'd like to park a car in the garage. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 29Oct 19, 2009 10:43 pm Check my blog. I'm building the biggest garage I could given the size of land and my issues with easements, etc. I will also have a hoist in the tandem third car area. Main garage is 6.6 wide by 6.45 deep. Third area is 3.3 wide by 5.53 deep. Big enough for my 70 Camaro. In hindsight I could have made it a little longer and the whole thing a little bit wider, bur proportionally I would have had trouble with how the whole thing looked. Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 31Oct 20, 2009 8:31 am I won't have much room in my shed and I had a look at the storage and bench section at Bunnings but they are quite expensive, I think I'll just modify (cut it in half) the bench I currently have I thought I'd make up some pegboard for the tools but I saw these (link below) and I think they might look a bit neater. http://www.dalsonware.com.au/versastor3.htm Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 32Oct 21, 2009 8:23 pm Cool links thanks for sharing! Dale&Bron - idont yet have any of the zx6rr on the track as i havent had it long enough, i had a zxr400 and i rekon the 400's are the way to go for track days... but i wanted to try somthing different and i will see how this goes. The zx6rr i have is 03-04 same year as my 636, if i get some pics soon i will put em up! Have you had a go at the new R1??? wow i think i want one!! Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 33Oct 21, 2009 10:27 pm Yeah I took the 09 1000cc's out for a spin earlier this year. The problem is after riding the 1198S and the 1098R, inline 4s just don't have what it takes to keep me enthralled like they used to, on the road anyway. I know I'd be a lot faster on the track on a big bang R1 vs an 1198, but there's something about the visceral feel of a twin that has really got me hooked. I sell Suzuki/Honda/Ducati at the moment, after spending two years selling Kawasaki/Yamaha/Moto Guzzi/Aprilia, so I've been lucky enough to test out the new machinery as it gets released. I'm yet to snaffle a decent ride on the D16RR yet, but there's not many people who'll throw someone the keys to a $100K+ motorcycle for some reason... Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 34Oct 22, 2009 7:40 pm I have to agree the v-twins are sweet and nothing sounds better then a twin coming down the road. I had a VTR1000 (cheap compared to v-twins you have ridden lol) and i loved it until i wrote it off horribly!... Were we ride in the hills here there is a group of guys that get around on KTM RC8 and also there i one guy we see alot on weekends riding his Bimoto and everyone looks on in envy. some older guy rides a Ducati Desmo Sedicci (cant spell it) and man that is sweet! Its always nice when you can try out various bikes, wish i worked at a bike shop! And I've never riden and in-line 4. I have ridden a triple however. DR 250 (single) GS500 (parallel twin) SV1000S (V-Twin) SV1000S (V-twin) first one fell over Patner has SV650S. When I was a kid I remember my Dad having a 900 Ducati, Boxer BMW and Harley in the shed at once. We are getting a 6x6 garage for fishing gear, Network HUB, 2 x cars and 1 x Blackbird and are looking at the Redback storage systems for the gear and tools..... I am bit nervous about security at the moment especially as the amount toys going in the garage is growing... There is a thread about streaming video over the internet, so I am going to wack one of those in the garage with a motion sensor ! * Are we there yet ? Demolition has come and gone ! yippeeee..hang on that was months ago !! come on Mr Builder, dig a hole at least Finaly ! Hole Dug ! well done darren 20/06/2010. Slab is down ! Framing is complete 20/10/2010 we are progressing like a snail on heat - excited and determined but very very slow Steveo Re: Shed/Mancave forums? 39Oct 31, 2009 9:35 pm Our new shed will be a combination studio for me at one end and sewing room for Margo at the other end. With shower and toilet it will also double as overflow accommodation for guests I don't ride but the shed studio needs to be big enough to get bikes in to be photographed.
