And can I just say how freakin' happy I am with it? Well can I? I am sooooo happy. This is what it looked like before the unit was fitted: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ On average now our hot water takes less than ..... wait for it: [insert pause here] 20 SECONDS!!! This is down from up to nearly 2 minutes Did I mention how happy I am? So the installation was done by a plumber by the name of Matthew Booth of the same company name at a very reasonable amount (contact me via the messages if you wish to find out how much) on Wednesday night. Matt was excellent at what he did and was very clean with his work (he even tidied up after himself) ... I would have no issue in recommending him as a plumber to anyone. We have had a full 2 days now to test the unit out and we are extremely happy with it. We have the unit come on about 15 minutes before we wake up in the morning and we have instant hot water in our ensuite and in the kitchen The same in the afternoons....instant hot water in the kitchen...The water that initally comes out is tepid straight away but is almost hot within 10 seconds and really hot in 20 ... This unit does exactly what it claims. (A refreshing change) Oh and quiet ... you honestly cannot even hear it! Here is a pic of the final install under the sink: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hot water .... HOORAY! For a full run down you can read the complete story (in reverse) here: http://ourgrandeplan.blogspot.com/ Re: Hot Water - we didn't have it ... we do now! :) 2Sep 25, 2009 8:49 pm One of the things that concerns me is our hot water system is about 20m away from the ensuite, but it is reasonable close to the kitchen... Looking at our plans it is hard to see where else they could locate it and be close to both though as we need to have our optical fibre connection near our main switch box. Re: Hot Water - we didn't have it ... we do now! :) 3Sep 25, 2009 8:55 pm How fabulous for you For years our hot water used to take FOREVER - so much so that we would collect two big buckets of water for the garden before any sign of hot water But with our rebuild, we will no longer have that problem as all the plumbing has been changed Won't be missing lugging the buckets out that's for sure good for you Jazz Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Hot Water - we didn't have it ... we do now! :) 5Sep 25, 2009 10:27 pm SuH Our hot water takes forever in the kitchen so I fill up a bucket to water plants until it comes through, damn frustrating though....so jealous glad for you but Is it REALLY that slow???? But hey, at least your doing two things at once; watering plants and turning on the hot water!!! Re: Hot Water - we didn't have it ... we do now! :) 6Sep 26, 2009 11:18 am I am amused that it is perfectly legal to use a bucket to reuse the water we run when waiting for the hot water to appear. It is perfectly legal to let that same water go down the drain - literally. As soon as you pipe this water into a tank, all the tank water must be used within the water restrictions currently in force. Go figure. Pfiff Finally making progress again, with a clothesline (yippee) and some much needed little things being attended to over the holidays. 40 C on New Year's eve? We love our a/c! Re: Hot Water - we didn't have it ... we do now! :) 7Sep 26, 2009 6:41 pm Great news Matt. And the fitting looks very neat. it's not some huge monster of a thing. Re: Hot Water - we didn't have it ... we do now! :) 8Sep 26, 2009 10:25 pm Thanks guys! We are really happy with the overall system. It is quiet, compact and works really well. Sometimes there is hot water there as soon as you turn the tap on. It is very cool. Thats 15+ litres of water not being wasted eveytime we turn the tap on Thats 2 minutes longer I can spend in the shower in the mornings Hooray!!!
