How happy are you with your builder??

Matt, you haven't even broken ground yet! Don't you think your rating might be a bit premature?

Everything so far with my builder has been great too, but we haven't broken ground yet either. Surely this is where the real opportunity is for things to go pear shaped.

Fair point but I did say "so far"

Building a house is also about the experience up to the point of actual construction (for most people the longest and hardest bit) and for me this has been an absolute breeze.

It could not have been any easier at all....

Now I am sure there will be a few hiccups along the way from here, but if Carlisle are half as professional sorting these out as they have been sof far, things will be just fine.

If anything changes beleive me you all will know about it.

we're building with M3tricon - we've been happy with most of the work except for the paintwork . Communication is also a major issue.
Today we are 1 week over contract, 6 weeks since final inspection (minimal work has been done in these last 6 weeks) and 15 months since we paid the deposit. The whole process is taking too far too long.

I scored 10 for Ownit homes. They are 25 years on the market and build around 100-120 houses a year. If to compare them, their quality is close to Clarendon, however visiting last Clarendon home displays I felt really dissapointed.

I loved Ownit since my first visit to home displays. A lot of space, open plan big kitchen and spacious bathrooms.

All the stages: plans, product selection and building went smooth with them being sooooooooooooo flexible and al the time available for us.

Within next 3 weeks my maintenance warranty comes to an end and there are just few little things that have to be fixed.

I love every minute of being in my house. When I read about your problems and listen to the most of the people, building process (if you are not trade yourself) seems to be a real pain. It can be different, unfortunately lack of tradesmen results in existing ******* builders and lower quality.

Overall I don't think I would spent less with other builders for the same size of the house. I would probably come very close but with worse quality.

I'm still tryinig to find out why Simple.

I posted a long story about my experience with them (all just facts) and it was removed from the forum. I believe someone else was posting about them also and then everything was removed and now they cannot be mentioned.

The forum even posted an apology.

I was pretty mad about it as I only posted facts and even when I PM'd the mods they first told me it had been quarantined and then they just ignored me and I never got an answer about why my post was deleted.

I can only assume that M3treecon threatened legal action or something which is completely bogus if you ask me.
