Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 16, 2009 4:28 pm We are doing up our house to put on the market in about 4-6wks time. OH is workin gon the garden and hiring a skip to clear out garage etc, I'm working on the decluttering and will hopefully have a garage sale in next couple of weeks. So that just leaves us to get new (cheap) carpet for bedrooms, a lick of paint to whole place (Painter brother-in-law ) and new blinds for all windows (old vertical blinds are destroyed by 2 toddlers and 2 cats ) Was looking at maybe cheap slimline venetian blinds for windows - economical, will make place look light and bright and clean. What do you think? Any better alternatives?? Cheers Caz Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... I couldn't believe how cheap they are. We are putting them in our rental property. Much cheaper than curtains. I like blinds because they look sleek and you can change the curtains to suit your decor or even have none. Verticals are outdated now. I agree go for the venetians. Not sure where you are but Spotlight or Big W have them (KMart? too) Bunnings has cheap carpet that looks good too. Going ot check out Bunnings tonight to check out the carpets, I know they do PVC venetians too. When I looked in Big W today they were mostly sold out cos they're on special, but Bunnings price match anyway Better get the measuring tape out! Any more ideas? Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! The cheapest might not be the best quality, but if it's for selling, do you care? Bunnings, Spotlight, K Mart, and umpteen other places sell them ready-made if your windows happen to be standard sizes. Otherwise, custom-made can still be very cheap. You could do a mixture of the two if you wanted to give some rooms a different look. Re: Need cheap but nice blinds to sell house, opinions pls! 5Sep 23, 2009 5:52 pm Try Super Amart, we put a load into our rental two years ago they were great value and looked fantastic, made of PVC I had to cut them to the correct width a little messing around but well worth it. if you need to know the best cutting method let me know. Good Luck arniedog Re: Need cheap but nice blinds to sell house, opinions pls! 6Sep 23, 2009 6:03 pm arniedog Try Super Amart, we put a load into our rental two years ago they were great value and looked fantastic, made of PVC I had to cut them to the correct width a little messing around but well worth it. if you need to know the best cutting method let me know. Good Luck arniedog no Amart in Vic unfortunately. Ended up getting a whole houseload of aluminium venetians from Big W, big sale on and was all up about $300, gotta be happy with that. Look good so far (putting them up slowly around kids and mess) Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... For a desired effect on a feature window, maybe, but I'd find it very off-putting if the whole house had venetians.
