Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Stamped concrete on alfresco slab 3Sep 14, 2009 5:23 pm based on not a lot of info you'd be best to remove the existing slab for 2 reasons; 1. you can retain exsting FFL's and maintain clearances for DPC and weep holes 2. if you get any movement between the 2 slabs regardless of reo I'd say it'll crack if you're gonna leave it I'd scabble the existing and make sure you had a decent thickness for the new top and the scabbled surface might help teh top slab resist moving..then again if you're scabblin the top you may as well jackhammer it out completley The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5161 yep, clearly mark where the infloor heating pipes are before drilling or nailing 1 6068 Building Standards; Getting It Right! is this for a residential dwelling or a shed? If its for a dwelling, its out of tolerance and a "mistakes happen" isnt a good enough excuse to just move on. 1 2433 |
