Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 09, 2009 12:59 pm we have a dilema here, one side of the neighbour wants coloubond fence, but another side of the neighbour wants plain timber. we would like the colourbond as almost everyone is having colourbond in our street, can anybody suggest how to approach this other guy? he seems to be stubbon and don't don't give a damn about the look of the street. also can anobody give some cost ideas about how much per meter for colourbond adn how much per metre for timbre? i have got one quote for colourbond $70 per metre, is this okay? any comments appreciated nh Re: fencing cost 3Sep 09, 2009 2:47 pm If you seriously can't come to an agreement each get your own on your own side of the boundary. Re: fencing cost 8Sep 10, 2009 1:23 pm i got a quote today: 1.8m high colour bond with sleeper underneath cost just over $86 per meter, but if i chose no wooden sleeper underneath, just 1.8m high coloubond, cost $67.6 per meter are these reasonable? is the wooden sleeper necessary? nh Re: fencing cost 9Sep 10, 2009 1:40 pm I am no expert but timber in soil is asking for trouble in terms of termites. I had to get all the timber sleepers removed from underneath the fence as instructed by the pest inspector as well as the pest control guy I used. Both guys said timber in soil is a NO! 1.8m high colourbond is normally $50 per metre installed using locally manufactured panels wiith 10 year warranty. Hmm, maybe they are manufactured in Sydney and the transport cost adds to your price. Who knows? How long till ur house is finish or is it finished? been a while i dont know! Re: fencing cost 15Sep 10, 2009 3:01 pm hi, woodsey my house - tiler is doing the tiling at the moment, carpet going in late next week, driveway and side/back path concreting should be finished mid next week if the weather can be fine for a way or two. so maybe moving in early Oct. then my list of "to do: is: letter box, clothlines, and maybe window shutters or blinds - if the budget is okay, we may need to use dold sheets for a while also on my list is the wardrobe, you know PD only have one hanging bar for all robes, i am thining to get some wired racks or pull out wired basket etc fitted on the wall, how do u think? then, is tower rails etc., oh right, landscaping will be a longway for us..... as you said, endless jobs nh Re: fencing cost 16Sep 10, 2009 3:25 pm thlo I am no expert but timber in soil is asking for trouble in terms of termites. One other option is, to use timber fence but with steel post, then it would certainly be much stronger and hopefully less chance of termite problem. Termites won't be interested in that. Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that.
