Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 01, 2009 2:07 pm Our renovation/extension is pretty much complete. Awaiting final bill from builder. Meanwhile he has been back to 'fix' small things before he hands us the bill. 1. A bobcat ran into our new shed. Builder replaced the panel on the right hand side. As you can see it's the same colour but the width of the groves is different on the replaced panel. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d127/Jahbee/shed.jpg 2. Builder returned to grout the rest of our basin. Originally one strip was left to allow for the mirror. Builder forgot i told him we had bought our own mirror to go there that wasn't as long as the one he had ordered. Tilers originally left a strip to allow for this. So to save money builder cames back and completes the strip himself. Hopefully the photo shows the grouting is a different texture and colour. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d127/Jahbee/grouting.jpg I sort of feel like these look like DIY jobs not professional jobs we paid for. I know in the scheme of things its not a big deal so am i being pedantic and should say nothing and leave it or would you put your hand up and say not good enough you need to re-do? Thanks. Re: Is near enough good enough? 2Sep 01, 2009 2:11 pm With the shed I would ask them to replace the other panel so it matches...personally it would annoy me looking at it... nope near enough isnt good enough! would they accept it if it were their house? Doubt it. Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! My building thread..viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19421 Brickies started 5/10 Re: Is near enough good enough? 3Sep 01, 2009 3:37 pm I'd be more inclined to just leave the shed 'as is'. But that different coloured tile grouting would annoy the crap outta me!! That i'd definitely get them to fix!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Is near enough good enough? 5Sep 01, 2009 6:03 pm I dont think it would be too much hassle for your builder to do both of the things you are concerned about, unless of course you cant get that shed in the same pattern anymore. Re: Is near enough good enough? 7Sep 06, 2009 7:49 pm It's your home: if you can live with both issues, leave it, if you can't (which is what I'm guessing o'wise you wouldn't have made this post) have them both fixed. Or every time you look at them, you'll wish you'd done something about it. Life's too short too drink bad wine Re: Is near enough good enough? 8Sep 06, 2009 9:57 pm Near enough is never good enough. It may be good enough for the person doing it but not for the person paying for it. So, mate put your hand up, right up, and make your point to the person responsible and tell them " Near enough is never good enough for me". If your not 100% happy then its not good enough.
