Filling in some holes in the plaster if you move the bookshelves is easy compared to dealing with what may happen to your children or yourself if you don't secure them to the wall. So, while we're on the subject of IKEA hacks, does anyone know how hard it is to shorten a billy bookcase? I want the silver ones, but they only come in 202cm high. I need a maximum of 140cm to fit under a window. Judie Re: Ikea Billy Bookcases 25Sep 03, 2009 5:53 pm I assume it would be fairly easy if you knew what you were doing. I got my ikea catalogue in the mail this morning! I saw it as I was driving out the driveway to go to work, so I quickly stopped and grabbed it before the rain started. I'm so excited! I'm going home to drool over it now! My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Ikea Billy Bookcases 26Sep 03, 2009 6:00 pm ^^ Lucky girl!! Re: Ikea Billy Bookcases 31Sep 03, 2009 9:00 pm I have phoned Ikea and asked for a Catalogue and it arrives within a day or so, very quick. I love that shelf idea, it must be wallpaper on th ebackboards? (very sheepishly she says.......I actually made sure that I had TWO Ikea catalogues, just for good measure ) www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Ikea Billy Bookcases 33Sep 04, 2009 7:18 am ... okay so I have a tiny addiction problem... I have all the ikea catalogues for the last 8 years. My husbane tries to hide the new catalogues when they come out.. hehe - but I always know when they are out! My brother now lives 5 minutes from Ikea (I am nearly an hour away)... so when we visit, I can always find some excuse why I have to stop in! I do have large binders in one of them and they sit inside ok, but I can't have a door on that bookcase as the binders do poke out a bit. Southies J&T, are they deep enough to hold lever arch files which are 28.5cm deep ? |
