Nothing fancy - just one that goes bing-bong and does not look too plastic ! Our (rather expensive) wireless model seems to be very temperamental and always needs new batteries at the most inopportune times. Re: Wired door-bell 3Aug 29, 2009 10:18 pm Bunnings. You will need a transformer that converts to the 6 watts or what ever it is. That is hard wired to your 240v by the leccie. Then you need the button, some classey ones available... and some arsey ones too The wire of course, and the bell. It is all bought individually and there are a few brands to choose from. Go to the door bell isle. Pick what you want. Then press every demmo bel they have and walk away Re: Wired door-bell 5Aug 29, 2009 11:08 pm Fu Manchu *shudder* Bunnings. The transformer goes in the roof, the wiring in the wall cavity, the bell can also go in the roof space or anywhere convenient and out of sight. Pantry or linen press or cupboard or where ever really found this too Remember the old winding door bell. http://www.waggarestorationcentre.com.a ... 20a&page=3 no batteries, works everytime, just like Nanna used to have Re: Wired door-bell 7Aug 29, 2009 11:12 pm check these out too. http://www.friedland.co.uk/en-GB/produc ... fault.aspx Thanks for your thoughts.
