We just feel that our house is a lower priority for the agent and perhaps taking it off the market or even giving it to someone who is more proactive..... But typically not and option until the agreed marketing period has passed/arrived. Re: Cancelling a contract with a real estate agent to sell 5Aug 23, 2009 9:35 am well I would get some advice on this one having worked in the real estate industry most often you cannot get out of the contract and will have to wait for the length of the contract to past, you can ask your agent if they will release you from the contract but have never seen this happen. You will need to nofity them buy write that you donot want them to sell your home. You have two options you can pull your home off the market and wait for the contract length to finish before relisting your home with other agent or option 2 leave it with your present agent and see how you go and if he does sell it all the better. finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Cancelling a contract with a real estate agent to sell 6Aug 23, 2009 10:14 am Thanks..........I'm in discussions this morning with them to work something out....... You will still need to wait for the exclusive period to be over before you list it with another agent though. another option is to leave it on the market and get exposure for your property - there is no obligation for you to accept any offers on your property that result from leaving it on the market, and it will give you a good indication of how your home is being perceived by the general public. I don't know of any agent who would cancel the exclusive sale authority - the best thing to do is wait it out. Re: Cancelling a contract with a real estate agent to sell 8Aug 23, 2009 1:58 pm Thanks for the quick feedback........I am in discussions with my agent right now.........hopefully we can work it out. I will leave it with them but expect them too work harder....I have no issue with them, but need more communication from them as to what they are doing.................
