Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 15, 2009 9:16 pm Hi just after some advice. My DH and I have discovered termites in our master bedroom and activity in a few other locations. We have had it treated several times and are now up to taking down the bedroom walls and replacing the frame, then repalstering and painting etc. Our dilema is do we make these repairs and stay or sell and build. Another consideration is that we like the house and area we are in, but the home lacks a rumpus room/playroom for the kids. Our lounge, dining and kitchen are all open plan. Lounge is sunken and study is off this. We have four bedrooms - master is a good size but the kids rooms are only small. We have toyed with the idea of extending out and up depending on approval. Our other option is to build. We live in regional NSW, land selling for $115,000 plus. Little land in the areas we like, and would probably be looking at $450,000 to build what we want. Any thoughts, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone has info on costing for extensions and renovations would be a help! if the original house is in good condition most of what you listed could be added in stages without the need for KDR and costs and disruption of having to live elsewhere… 1 10407 ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 6199 Painting your colorbond roof with a rust inhibitor can definitely help extend its life and prevent rust.
