Re: Henley discontinues Damani 102Sep 29, 2009 3:11 pm aaron4erin What fabulous appliances are you using jcjuice? we're not getting fab appliances. we're getting crappy technika. but it didn't worry me - since d'amani is also crap, and as felistopher mentioned, you only go by what you know. Funnily enough, everyone is citing the dishwasher and microwave as the things that break. We've only got a Technika oven, we bought our own bosch dishwasher and had an existing microwave... the main thing is that felistopher got the desired outcome. However, inmho it's not fair to rubbish a brand just because of some bad experiences (yours or someone elses). Otherwise, according to negative feedback - you shouldn't build your home with: 1. Metric0n 2. Burbank 3. Henley 4. Porter Davis 5. Zuccala 6. Devine - since according to many people, they're all crap! Re: Henley discontinues Damani 104Sep 29, 2009 3:47 pm thanks felistopher and sorry no I haven't got a thread on our build...discovered this site too late Nevermind because I have learn't alot so far and if we ever build again I will defn know so much more. We are building the Kiara in N.Brisbane P.H or Henley in Vic and it has been smooth sailing for us. Our SS has been excellent the same with our CSA and that has made a big difference. Will be getting our keys next week bar any hiccups from the bank but I don't think their will be. I have following everyones thread with henley and some of the houses are amazing. Re: Henley discontinues Damani 105Sep 29, 2009 4:45 pm jcjuice However, inmho it's not fair to rubbish a brand just because of some bad experiences (yours or someone elses). Jcjuice, if it is 'fair' for you to have a positive opinion of a brand, then surely it is fair that others can have a bad opinion of it. After all, everybody should be able to have an opinion either way and not feel like somebody is attacking them for it shouldn't they?? Re: Henley discontinues Damani 106Sep 29, 2009 6:58 pm aaron4erin We battled to get our D'Amani due to cosmetics, and also the Technika warranties weren't as long. Also, battled due to principle, we wanted what we signed for. We're not getting the microwave, as our $50 white one has lasted years and we dont see the point of upgrading to a $500 stainless steel one (our microwave will be under the island bench out of view anyway). We're just getting the wall oven, dishwasher and cook top. The rebate amount Henley offered us for the 3 appliances ($1580) was hardly worth taking, so we happy to have our D'Amani in the end. holy smokes. we got a rebate of $741 JUST for the dishwasher - so swapping that was a no brainer for me.... I wish they'd standardise the rebate process. Seems a bit random. Also, good point on the warranty - however the warranty is the same length for the upright cooker regardless of whether it's Da'mani or Technika - they're both 3 years, so that makes no difference. Re: Henley discontinues Damani 107Sep 29, 2009 7:05 pm Our Pl@ntation appliances included the SS D'amani microwave as well as the rangehood, oven/cooktop, and diswasher. Those of you who have seen my earlier posts in this thread may remember we got a letter about change of appliances from the older version of the upright cooker and microwave to the latest D'Amani models. Still ages from needing them though, so will be interesting to see if they try and change them to Technika later on. I got hold of the latest QLD sales book, and wasn't surprised to see that D'Amani is no longer in there. All P homes now come with Technika appliances. Had a giggle though when I saw that they are still using all the same photos just with the brand name photoshopped out.. Sneeky, sneeky! Hopefully if you signed with D'Amani listed then thats what you get, and anyone signing from now on will get the Technika. Building the Pl@ntation Retreat on 4009m2. All moved in!!!!!! Now for the real work https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20588&p=285640#p285640 Re: Henley discontinues Damani 108Oct 02, 2009 1:11 pm Ok well we got our D'amani appliance installed on Tuesday and I LOVE them.... However we didn;t get the oven we chose as it has been discontinued so we ended up with an upgrade for free so have a rotisserie in our oven now (DP is quite happy about that!) We spoke with our handover guy wednesday and he said the calls have already started flooding in about technika rangehoods and dishwashers dying within 2 weeks of them going in! (which is what happened to our neighbours) so lets wait 2 weeks and see how we compare! Oh and the warranty thing was a big thing for us aswell! 1 year vs 3 years we all know where we'll go! 2nd build here we come in Whittlesea! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=92617 1st Build - Henley - Cooper in Doreen! (2009) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17354 Re: Henley discontinues Damani 109Oct 02, 2009 1:18 pm CiNnY didn;t get the oven we chose as it has been discontinued so we ended up with an upgrade for free so have a rotisserie in our oven now (DP is quite happy about that!) Re: Henley discontinues Damani 110Oct 02, 2009 1:47 pm CiNnY 1 year vs 3 years we all know where we'll go! FYI - Technika Warranties: Oven/Cooktop: 3yrs Rangehood/Dishwashers: 2yrs (standard warranty on a dishwasher - thats what we got with our Bosch) Microwave: 12 months (standard warranty on a microwave - just visit your local 'good guys') As you know, 3yrs on everything for D'Amani - a very good upside. Worth noting however, since everyone waffled on about it, is that ONLY their ovens are made in Italy. Everything else (rangehood, microwave, dishwasher etc)? Made in China. Nothing wrong with this (as I've expressed) - but don't fool yourself into thinking you're getting all Italian made stuff.... Re: Henley discontinues Damani 112Oct 02, 2009 2:33 pm Ari aaron4erin (once they've fixed our variation) Good luck with that We're right back at the start again. They resent the email telling us about the Technika change. Re: Henley discontinues Damani 113Oct 02, 2009 3:02 pm aaron4erin Does delaying signing the final drawings delay the site start? technically it should i believe, but they started on our site before final drawings were signed. In fact, they started on site before we paid the initial 5% deposit!!!! Our dishwasher only made it to 13months!!! I would get the rebate and buy something better that will last longer. We also know of another couple who had the glass break while it was heating.... I wonder if it would cover damage to cabinets etc, caused by the flying shards of glass? I wonder if it would cover damage to cabinets etc, caused by the flying shards of glass? And, if you followed the link a few postings above, it would appear that glass tends to be excluded from the warranty. I liked the difference in attitude between the D'Armani spokesperson (excluded from warranty, owners must have been at fault) and the other spokesperson (not covered by warranty but we'll replace anyway.) Helpful for those still deciding which appliances to go for. Pfiff Finally making progress again, with a clothesline (yippee) and some much needed little things being attended to over the holidays. 40 C on New Year's eve? We love our a/c! Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 10509 |
