Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 30, 2007 12:44 pm HI. I'M A NEW USER SO FORGIVE ME IF I DO THIS WRONG. I'M STRESSING OVER WINDOW COVERINGS FOR A NEW HOUSE & I'VE HAD A QUOTE FROM HOME OUTLET IN RICHMOND. HAS ANYONE USED THEM BEFORE? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK ON THEM. THANKS. Re: WINDOW COVERINGS 3May 30, 2007 2:45 pm Adrian B I have been to their Hoppers Corssing otulet and found them helpfull and well priced. I would suggest you get a quote from one of the big companies and you might see what I mean.. i agree -altho i went to their Thomastown outlet. Re: WINDOW COVERINGS 5May 30, 2007 8:19 pm We also are using them (hoppers crossing outlet). We got about 6 other quotes are they were hands down the best for the exact same product.
They have also been really helpful with different ideas etc. When we have them installed I'll let you know. Re: WINDOW COVERINGS 6May 31, 2007 9:47 am THANKS IESHA FOR YOUR REPLY. DID YOU HAVE TO PAY 40% UPFRONT & WHEN IS YOUR INSTALLATION? ALSO I'M A BIT STUCK ON WHAT TO PUT IN MEALS AREA. I HAVE A LARGE SLIDING DOOR GOING OUT TO ALFRESCO & ALSO A WINDOW ON THE OTHER WALL. I WAS GOING TO PUT A PANEL GLIDE ON THE SLIDING DOOR & I HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO PUT A PANEL GLIDE ON THE WINDOW TO MATCH AS IT IS THE SAME ROOM. ANY COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL AS I UNDERSTAND THE IDEA OF HAVING MATCHING WINDOW COVERINGS IN THE SAME ROOM, BUT NOT SURE ABOUT PANEL GLIDE ON THE WINDOW. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?
PIP. Re: WINDOW COVERINGS 7May 31, 2007 10:43 am i've place my order with them. Yes had to pay 40% deposit.
on our meals slider i've put roman blinds which will match the romans in the lounge area. I was going to put in panel glides but would've lost a lot of the natural light that would be coming in as the panels would've covered up a fair portion of the doors. I don't know about panel glide on a window tho - how big is the window? could you put a holland or roman blind on the other windows in the same fabric as the panel glide? Re: WINDOW COVERINGS 8May 31, 2007 11:10 am I hope I explain this properly so here goes.
We have a double panel sliding door, which separates in the middle with a leaf going in each direction. We have a Roman blind on each side, ciovering the fixed panel, and a lwider Roman Blind covering the Opening of the double doors. This means we can just open the middle one to go in or out, or a side one to let in some light. If I have time I will post a photo (might ot be for a while tho...) Adrian B Re: WINDOW COVERINGS 9May 31, 2007 6:56 pm Thanks for the ideas. The meals window is fairly big-1540x2410. I'm now leaning towards using a roman blind on the window, with the panel glide on the slider in the same material (as suggested). Who would have thought that selecting window coverings would be such a drama. I thought that choosing the house colors was stressful enough. I will probably go with home outlet now. Hope your orders turn out well. I will be watching out for an update.
