Hi, I'm building with henley Circa Vk1 in melbourne. I'm so jealous on what you did to your pantry and fridge space. We regret not insisting to change it at our tender appt. We were told they wont allow it due to our wall oven option. http://ourhausinoz-henleycircavk1.blogspot.com/ Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 4Aug 09, 2009 8:43 pm Hi Babes, Nice to see your photos and are jealous of your flat block. We would have been able to afford more upgrades if our site costs were not so high. Hey, where is your house in Melbourne, which estate? We are wondering when will your house be finished? I love seeing the photos and am pleased of our decision for the extended pantry and we had no trouble getting it, we went through the Caroline Springs office, who suggested the change as I prefer more storage. Harribeka http://www.harribeka.blogspot.com Hello, We're building in west melbourne-Brimbank Gardens. Hopefully our house will be finish in 2 months time, our ss wont give us time frame but the bank already paid the fixing invoice. I'm hoping I could change our fridge space after handover if it will not cost us an arm and a leg, width space is only 850 mm,can't find the fridge that I want with that space mistake....mistake... Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 6Aug 16, 2009 4:50 pm Hi there, I wrote a comment on your bog, yes we increased our fridge space to a metre as have a big one already. Keep the photos coming am enjoying seeing your house. Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 7Aug 29, 2009 10:16 pm Hi yah, we could have post more photos today if not for our strict SS, anyway we'll try to arrange for a site meeting this week so we can get inside. The tiling looks almost complete and electricals done but no news of handover date yet. Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 8Aug 29, 2009 10:53 pm Hi Harribeka, I'm not far from you (Tudor Drive) but built with PD about a year ago. I had originally chosen a block opposite you about three blocks up that now has a 2 story PD house being built on it. I wonder what their site costs were because that block has 2 metres of fill on it and originally had a creek running through it. Anyway, I see your progress as I drive past each day so it's good to put a blogger to a house . My block required a fair bit of work to build on as well - there aren't many level blocks in that estate but at least it has some character and is nice to look at. Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 9Aug 30, 2009 8:24 am Hey Mozzie, Nice to chat to a local. What internet do you have now, we have heard of some ADSL ports being available and have our next door neighbour (future) on lists to see when it is ready? What do you know? Our neighbours 2 doors up number 33 built with PD and their site costs were $53k. We found PD to be too expensive with lots of things, found Henley good. Hey Babes, Would love to see some more front and back shots outside when you have those. Hopefully we have some bricks and tile shots soon. When was your site start date? Wanting to know how far ahead in time you are to us? Harribeka Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 10Aug 30, 2009 1:19 pm There are some ADSL ports provided on the RIM for the estate however these disappeared over a year ago. Two people in my street have ADSL but the rest of us have no choice but to have wireless. I've tried numerous ISP's but they all say the same thing - no broadband available. As far as I'm aware no provider will offer to put you on a list - the only option is to keep trying which involves signing up and paying connection fees and then waiting up to several weeks to be told you can't be connected and the they give you your money back. How many times does a person want to go through this system? In the end I gave up because lets face it, there is a very slim chance that a resident with ADSL in the estate will move out and just happen to free up a port that coincides with you registering. There will be no further ADSL ports added to the estate either - the Mooroolbark exchange is not being upgraded and everyone just has to live with it. Sorry to sound negative but I've tried and tried to get decent broadband in this estate and its a no win situation - same with the Gateway in Lilydale. Telstra Next-G was my only option as Optus does not have a service in the area. Next-G is expensive and very average but better than nothing. Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 11Aug 31, 2009 10:44 pm Thanks for your answers re internet. This is very, very disappointing. If i knew this prior I would have thought long and hard about building in this estate, as I work in IT and this is important to me. Suppose we will have to keep trying when we move in. So far so good (touch wood), no major issues, just lots of Rain delays. We are at lockup, exterior cleanup this week, then painting and tiles next few weeks. Hopefully in by Xmas, should be feasible. Seems like a good area, the neighbours we have met seem great so far. Henley have been great so far. Good luck with your build. who are you buiolding with, have you set up a blog ? http://www.harribeka.blogspot.com Re: Building in Mooroolbark... or Henley Circa in Melbourne 18Oct 16, 2009 9:56 am Hello, Wow lock up stage I cant wait for that! Sounds very exciting I havent met any of the neighbours yet but I definately look forward to it. I used to live in Chirnside village and had my heart set on buying an existing house there, it was a lovely area and all the people were very nice but being a first home buyer I couldn't afford it everyone out priced me on every house I tried to buy - I think this area will be just as nice though and all the lovely new houses will look beautiful when they sell off the rest of the land. They havent actually started my build yet so once they have I will make a blog but I had a look at yours and I think I know which one your house is I drove past my block last night and I noticed the very first thing has been done - We have a water meter! Yay so maybe this means they will actually start soon? Kel Building in Mooroolbark! He said he had never heard of Mooroolbark before and it would definately be out of their "Build Zone" - but then we noticed there are plenty of PD homes in our estate??? Then we went to H3nly and they said we would have to pay for a site test and if they land sloped too much they still reserved the right not to build on it so we were scared off cos we cant afford to pay any money and not get something for it! When we went into Max Brown display the Customer Service guy was fantastic! He said he would make it work for us with our price with no hidden costs. So far we have had great service and I feel that when we ask for extras there is not too much of a mark up very affordable Kel Building in Mooroolbark! They have built a lot of homes in our area, hopefully it will go smoothly for you, they are obviously a smaller builder. With regards to PD, what a joke, they have heaps of houses around us. We were in Henley's Zone 2, which meant we did not get as much of a discount in the deal that was going on at the time, however they pretty much build anywhere.
