Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 25, 2009 8:36 am My deck is needing to be cleaned and re-stained (magpie poo ). I have a wheelie bin type rain collector that's nearly full thanks to a 30 minute downpour a few days ago I have a Karcher high pressure cleaner that's been sitting idle for about 4 years Anyone have any idea whether I can successfully use the cleaner direct from the 'tank'? Anyone else do this? Is there any special device that I need to buy to make it happen? Thanks for any tips. Re: Anyone use high pressure cleaner direct from tank? 2Jul 25, 2009 9:24 am Some high pressure cleaners require a certain amount of supply pressure to force water into the pressure cleaners pump, and some dont, as they have a substantial suction as well. I imagine that once the water is at the pump, the suction will be forthcoming, but you need to get the water there first. If you dont have a way of pumping the water to your high pressure pump, try raising the wheely bin a meter or two above the high pressure pump to use gravity to force the water towards the pump. Re: Anyone use high pressure cleaner direct from tank? 3Jul 25, 2009 2:12 pm Thanks for the info Stu. I checked at Bunnings today and they do sell a 'suction hose' for the reasons you note. Now that I have seen what they are I think I have noticed my local council sanitation guys using them to extract water from their wheelies and from what I have noticed they appear to work quite well with good pressure. Hey guys, what’s everyone opinion on James Hardie linea direct fix to frame? Would this be the most common method and anybody ever had any problems down the track? 0 5151 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6146 |
