Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 15, 2009 11:23 pm Hi All, I'm looking for places to buy furniture in Perth. I'm looking for a few good pieces to start with, and then a few lesser quality ones to do me till I can add to my "nice" collection. Does anyone know of any antique or second hand shops anywhere in Perth selling this stuff? Or new shops with nice quality stuff? I'm happy to buy new, but love the hardwood / hardwood-look furniture. I want it to be fair quality (eg. dovetail joints). Coffee tables, hallstands, hall tables, buffets, tv cabinets etc. This is the closest I've found to what I like without spending $5000 on a coffee table! http://www.athomefurniture.com.au/waratah.html My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Antique Wood / New Wood Furniture Shops in Perth 2Jul 24, 2009 5:08 pm You should watch the auction houses like Ross's. Earlier this year and you can look on their website at past auctions they had several Saturday auctions at a Finness furniture shop in Mandurah in which it was all good quality and bargins were had. I picked up a high quality red leather corner lounge made by Gascoynes for $3,600 normally retail for $5,500. But you need to do your homework and not get carried away in the excitement of the moment. Re: Antique Wood / New Wood Furniture Shops in Perth 4Apr 17, 2010 12:49 pm Ross's are doing a Gascoynes auction in the next few days. Our leather suit in the lounge is from there. Nice quality We are tossing up between a Jarrahdale radiant wood fire (the Pioneer) and a convection wood fire (Innovator or Countryman) but cannot decide on which type of wood fire is… 0 5247 yeah i couldnt picture it issue either, but i could clearly picture what they were doing wrong haha 2 5289 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13063 |
