Handover - 11th September. Re: We may be doing it all again! 9Jul 07, 2009 12:45 pm Good on you I'm also curious, will the 2nd house be for you to live in or is it an investment? Any changes you will make? Different builder etc? We will also rebuild down the track I think. We plan to live in our new house until the kids are teenagers, so probably another 10 years, then we will look at building a house more specific to our needs - double story with master downstairs this time! My karma ran over your dogma Re: We may be doing it all again! 10Jul 07, 2009 12:48 pm If I had my way, I would do a build every year, I just love the thrill of it all Taffy - Please share the details Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, and professionals built the Titanic." Re: We may be doing it all again! 12Jul 07, 2009 2:04 pm Well ok Guys! The new block is just down the road in the same estate, it will be released sometime towards the end of August. There are already 8 on hold, it is the last release of the estate and so after this there will be no more blocks on the Golf Course I love all aspects of building I love the designing of the house (I even drawing in furniture to scale so I know the rooms will be the right size I got it bad which is a bit of a worry! I love doing the interior design, picking all the tiles, benchtops appliances etc., even though it does make me stress at times! So we are thinking of doing it all again. It wont happen overnight, but it most prob will happen We have to landscape the garden and may attach a pergola to the side of the alfresco and extend the patio area on this house first. Then we have to get some valuations on how much we could expect if we sell or how much rent we could expect if we decide to rent this one out. So it all depends on what happens there whether we go ahead. Another alternative is to buy the block and sit on it for a while. I will definately build with Alatalo again, I have been very happy with them. So we have a lot to consider and not sure which way we will be going yet, sell or rent this one, but we have a little bit of time on our hands so we will see how things pan out Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: We may be doing it all again! 13Jul 07, 2009 3:23 pm Taffy! I say good on you as well. I also want to build again, not now though, maybe 8-10 years down the track. I agree with all you just said - I love all the aspects of building too, and there are so many other things I'd like to do differently in the next house, not necessarily because I got them wrong this time round, but just to 'try' something new! I hope the new block has just as nice a view as your current one that's one of the reasons I want to build again - for a country location with a nicer aspect keep us updated! Re: We may be doing it all again! 14Jul 07, 2009 9:10 pm WOW Taffy - I am sure you heard me exhale as I read this!!!! You are a goer, good on you!! I can undoubtedly say that I will NEVER do this again (at least not on a hill!!) and really admire you for having yet another crack at it. In the meantime if you need a fix of building, I think I could quite happily hand my build over for a while - you ARE only across the river you know!!! Well Im not young, forty and a few years and as for the energy I dont know if I got much of that left But I do enjoy it. Obviously we would only do it if we could make some money on this one, then we could build the next one and have a pool or maybe a few other things without having to borrow any money If nothing comes of it then I am really quite happy to stay here. Just keeping all our options open at the moment Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: We may be doing it all again! 18Jul 08, 2009 8:23 am donuts  Taffy! Thanks Yes the new block has nice views also but where this one is flat from the street then drops away at the back so you are looking down on the golf course the next one is completely flat. I am very happy with the floor plan and I may build the same again but with tiny alterations, but I also have ideas of another one where the main bedroom would also look out onto the golf course, still working on that one Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: We may be doing it all again! 19Jul 08, 2009 9:36 am Trust me Taffy, 40+ is young, I had so much more energy at that age than now *sigh* I am happy to stay here until I can't climb stairs anymore, then it's off to the harbourview unit...no it's not a retirement home Re: We may be doing it all again! 20Jul 09, 2009 9:52 am Go for it Taffy! I'd do it again tomorrow if I had the chance - it would just have to be a move to the country that would make me want to go through the moving process again Practice makes perfect!
