Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 22, 2009 9:05 pm Hi everyone! A few months ago I bought a Dyson upright Vac.... as we are building I put the box in storage.... with the manual inside. It's going to be an absolute PITA to get it out. Anyway, I need to clean the filter and I just wanted to know if someone could give me a quick run down on how to do so according to the instructions. Thanks very much, Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I find Dyson to have excellent support, so you are probably already sorted. Usually, on the actual vacuum, there is a sticker with a toll-free number to their support centre. Whether you have a question as you did, need parts or service, they are normally most helpful. If it comes to parts, they send them to you or direct you to the nearest service centre. If you aren't near one, they may arrange a courier to collect it, repair and return it to you, all under warranty if within the warranty period. Regarding cleaning of filters, the filter normally has a sticker on it with visual instructions and/or symbols to show how to clean it. With the washable filters, wash it gently in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Squeeze out excess and allow it to dry naturally. Make sure it is totally dry before reusing it. I use a DC04 Constantmax (a commercial model) Dyson. As it is in regular commercial use, I have some spare filters, and change them one a week. I wash & dry the others while one is in use. The final HEPA filter is a LIFETIME filter and doesn't need to be touched unless the vac is abused and something causes damage. Cheers! Ash.
