Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 22, 2009 2:41 pm Hi everyone, Anyone currently building with Ventura homes, or have/know of experiences with them? We are looking at signing with them, and would love to hear from anyone who has also built with them recently. I did a search of the forum and I only found people from a few years ago who don't seem to use the forum anymore. Thank you Kara Building with Ventura homes (WA) Building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20516 Slab: 17/04/10, Bricking started: 12/05/10, Bricking finished: 2/06/10, Roof frame done: 11/06/10, Colorbond on: 14/07/10, Lock Up: 19/08/10, Cabinets: 25/08/10, Tiling done: 28/09/10, Electrical: 2/10/10, PCI: 29/10/10, Keys: 4/11/10 Re: Ventura homes (WA) 2Jun 22, 2009 3:04 pm One of my best mates is currently building with them. She said the paperwork got dragged out a fair bit, but the actual build itself has been seamless. She said the builders are always keeping in contact with her, and that they are yet to find a flaw in the construction itself (they are about 2 weeks off lockup). Shes building the Bella Vista. Its huge and it seems to include everything! I'm kind of jealous - I wish I had looked at them before I signed up with my builder. Anyways, I hope this helps Building 'The Kingston' (with 'Boston' elevation) through Blueprint Homes in Hocking, Perth **PCI complete 06.02.10** My Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17607 Re: Ventura homes (WA) 3Jun 22, 2009 3:07 pm Thanks so much for your reply NatB I have my heart set on one of their house plans, so it's great to hear a good review. Yeah they do seem to include a lot in their specifications, which is one of the things that has attracted me. I was suprised when I read this, as my mate had only good things to say about them (besides for the huge delay at the start!) But at the same time, I think any company is bound to have good and bad reviews... We heard very different reports depending on where people built. we had fully intended to build with them until they decided not to build here. Of course 1 month in with our new builder they decided they were building here. duh! oh well. Re: Ventura homes (WA) 8Jun 22, 2009 9:41 pm We hope to build with Ventura - we really liked their range of farmhouse style homes which fitted in with what I envisioned on home in the country to be Are just waiting for them to get back with a quote on site works atm. Re: Ventura homes (WA) 9Jun 23, 2009 7:04 pm Thanks to everyone to replied. Looks like we will be going ahead and building with them. Will start a blog for others to follow once we are more along in the process. With Ventura you get higher specifications as standard but you certainly pay for it. I found it cheaper upping the specifications on a * house to the same specs as Ventura and also got a lot bigger home (328 square meters for $220k) than Ventura offer. I would estimate the same house I am building with the same specs would cost 50k more through Ventura. However I can understand why you would have gone with Ventura as there show homes are very nice with all the specs on show. Re: Ventura homes (WA) 11Jun 23, 2009 10:53 pm Hi Skyblue, We checked out *, but couldn't find any plans we liked. We have chosen a promo home with Ventura, and have added a room, his and hers robes and stone bench tops. House is about 292 sq metre and costing us approx $194,000 - which we are very happy with. Mainly wanting to go with them because of our plan - it just works well for our lifestyle. We also couldn't go any bigger than this house - it already takes up 53% of our block and I'm pretty sure we can only build on 50% off it, so we will have to cut it down a little. You shoulkd know from reading this site that every builder has good and bad points and we have spoekn about this before as long as you keep a really good eye on everything going on you will be fine. As for reducing the size...there are a couple of really great ways of doing this without comprimising the rooms. I am sure we will get to see the plan on your blog when you arre ready. I hope all is going well with the other builder. Re: Ventura homes (WA) 14Jun 24, 2009 3:25 pm Hi Sky blue, sorry to confuse you.....check out some of Karakara's other threads. There was another builder they were interested in prior to V entura. Re: Ventura homes (WA) 16Jun 28, 2009 7:30 pm hey gweluphome, I defintely will put the plan up for feedback/suggestions once the builder has got back to us with our changes and once we've signed our prelim. I'm just wondering if it's worth it?? Is it really $7000 for essa stone kitchen benchtops??? Re: Ventura homes (WA) 18Jun 28, 2009 10:23 pm Unfortunately we can't have that offer because the house we have chosen is a promotional home from their 'forte series' and the promo states it's for any houses except those. I asked the sales guy but he said no sorry =( Maybe I can try negotiating with him again, because we have added a theatre room and his and hers robes - and with the cost of these changes we are now paying around the same price as some of their houses that aren't promo homes. Maybe I'll try my luck, but I doubt it! The quote we have been given for essa stone 20mm bench tops, which includes a 4m long kitchen island bench with waterfall edge on both ends, other kitchen bench where stovetop is, and tops of vanities in both bathrooms (which he said they do with offcuts from kitchen, so apparently there isn't much price difference if you don't get the bathrooms done because you pay per slab) is approximately $8000 from memory. The waterfall edges take up a lot of the price, they are about $2000 for both ends. I really would like the 40mm edge for the island bench, but I dread to ask how much that would cost and I don't think I’ll be able to accommodate that one in the budget! You will definately get the most value from the promo by going with the Essa Stone benchtops. In terms of value its actually worth the most. What colour you going with for bench tops?
