Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 18, 2009 4:27 pm I'm getting a patio added to my house and the builder uses a pre-insulated roofing. The existing roof is a Colourbond roof in NIGHTSKY. The builder has just told me that this colour was discontinued (as pre-insulated roofing) about a month ago and is suggesting that I go with IRONSIDE. I'm a little concerned about having two different colours for the roof and would be interested in the opinion of people who are more experienced at this sort of thing than me. The patio is going to be reasonably big. It comes out 4.6m, and has a 5.5m pitch in the middle, then wings on either side about 2m. I would really appreciate any advice you could give. Will it look okay in IRONSIDE? Is there another colour that I should use? Thank you so much!!! Re: Is IRONSTONE a good substitute for NIGHTSKY? 3Jun 18, 2009 8:03 pm borg ironstone would be the worst color next to nightsky. Monument is a closer match. However why not consider going for a contrasting color instead. How about dune or shale grey?? I reckon a contrasting colour would be a better idea. Having two similar but not exactly the same dark colours may look odd, whereas a lighter grey tone could look quite striking (and would be a bit cooler in summer) New beginnings. Re: Is IRONSTONE a good substitute for NIGHTSKY? 4Jun 18, 2009 9:12 pm Monument is the closest colour to Night Sky. They say Night Sky fades to look like Monument anyway... wonder if that's true. I wouldn't give up on the Night Sky just yet if I was you. Ring Colorbond direct..... you may be able to source enough to do your job. There'll still be some floating around I'd think. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Is IRONSTONE a good substitute for NIGHTSKY? 5Jun 19, 2009 9:14 am Thank you so very much for your comments. The idea of a contrasting colour isn't something that I thought of. If I can't source Nightsky myself, I think I'll go with a lighter colour. Thanks !!!! 9 24815 Thank you. Or is both the same? 6 7302 Hi, I have had them in the past and the pros are: Versatile, i.e many different colours and styles to choose… 1 6886 |
