Seens ome nice ones with corrugated Iron and Mahogany, but you are paying some $$$ for them. Regarding brickies, see if you can find a new estate where they are building new display homes, and approach the brickes there. The display home brickes tend to be neater and more polished that the traditional contract brickes, given that you need a very very high quality job for indoor use, as you will be closer to a brick wall than you normally would. Adrian B Re: Home Bar!! 4May 11, 2007 1:56 pm Ever since we went through the last lot of display houses, my partner now wants a bar - he wants room for a bar fridge, a counter and a single sink - now I've just got to figure out where the heck to put it! - its beginning to look like its going to be in the back of the theatre room/rumpus room ....
So for his sake, I'm keeping an eye on this thread so I can hopefully get some ideas on how to make this work for him Re: Home Bar!! 5May 11, 2007 2:04 pm Rods about to put in a bar at home....perhaps he could ad to this thread... Re: Home Bar!! 6May 15, 2007 1:43 pm Yeah, but mine's gunna be outside, undercover in our newly finished outdoor entertainment area.
Just got the necessary 'go ahead' from the wife the other day, so now I can start acquiring the material I need - basically gunna do it all with wood, and paint it to match the rest of the scheme out there... Here are some pics of the outdoor area: From the backyard... Where did you get those custom made / fitted cafe blinds from?? Matt Re: Home Bar!! 9May 15, 2007 3:15 pm OK......I missed something didn't I? Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Home Bar!! 10May 15, 2007 3:23 pm Michelle,
I don't want to steal Rod's thunder.... He will tell you about his "special blinds" and the "special zippers" Matt awwh ... I am just jealous as i have nowhere to put mine yet!! Re: Home Bar!! 11May 16, 2007 8:39 am Custom ordered and installed Clear PVC blinds (as heavy-duty as we could go) by......that's the problem, I can never bl00dy well remember the name of the business/guys who did it - something like Eastern Outdoor (my wife contacted them) - based somewhere in or near Berwick I think (I do still have their invoice of course).
I can, however, highly recommend these guys. They were very easy to deal with, and installed them on Christmas Eve! (long story - had 22 people coming for Christmas and this project had gotten a little pair-shaped. Finally got the bricky in during the last week before Christmas and it was better not to install the blinds until after he was finished so the blind guys agreed to do it on the Xmas Eve Sunday! - I was nervous until they actually showed up, but they did and got it done with enough time for me to pressure clean the whole area before the big day). I had already constructed the frame(s) (posts, etc.) that these blinds would be installed onto - part of the overall work I did to enclose this outdoor area (which I will create a new thread for in the Outdoor Living section), and they came out and measured them all up exactly before ordering. Add to that the fact that these are a seriously good quality product - everything is heavy duty, from the extra heavy bar in the bottoms (wrapped in back PVC) to keep some good weight/tension on the blinds, to things like the aircraft quality zips down all of the sides and the funky pully mechanisms etc. On windy days it's like a hurricane in Pakenham so we needed these blinds to be able to withstand that (after seeing some reports on ACA where some poor bloke's blinds have come loose in the wind and smashed themselves and other parts of his home). I made it very clear to these guys how serious I was about the need for these to be up to the task - they do it in spades! Love 'em, as does everyone who sees 'em. Re: Home Bar!! 12Jun 01, 2007 11:46 am I have the same thing in mind. Please post pics for inspiration.

Do you mean pics of the bar (when finished)? I have actually only just started sourcing the materials today... Re: Home Bar!! 15Aug 07, 2007 10:29 pm Sorry to tell you this, but I reckon you'll have about as much luck as the guy who wants a brickie to build a letterbox.
Try a 'handy-man' service instead or teach yourself. Brickies may be a little hesitant to lock in such a small job, or may charge you through the nose.
