Just after some opinions on cost to extend a 3 bedroom single brick north facing 60's home.. .adding a master suite (WIR/ Ensuite)...approx 35sqm, a medium size double garage and extending the lounge/family room area by about 35 sqm in two directions. Do you think we could do this for $130-$200k? and should we go upstairs for the master suite to capture local views (of black mountain in Canberra) or out the back on one level? Is there a difference in costs? We also need to renovate the kitchen, bath and laundry...which we have allowed 50-60k including removing one wall and all fixtures staying as is? Is this realistic? 35sqm ext will cost approximatley $40K finished (in melb) and just to "go up" is around $100K plus the room plumbing etc. We looked at a master bedroom upstairs and were quoted $125K to $160K.
