Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 28, 2009 9:23 pm Hi, We just had a quote to fence our new house and because we now need retaining with most of it is going to cost over $22k, originally we thought we would just have colourbond good neighbour fencing and this was going to be around $7k which is what we budgeted for. Can anyone recommend fencing companies in SA please? Thanks, Vid Re: Fencing & Retaining walls in SA 2May 29, 2009 10:56 am Hi Vid, We have a noticeboard at work and here are the details/comments. Positive James Francis Fair Deal Fencing 0415 454 157 Bazza's Fencing 041 880 2032 Negative Fencing World average job and delays JR Fencing Good work but the quoted price means nothing, the price increases as the job goes on. Very aggressive. Hope this helps Building Adelaide MKII (modified) with Statesman Building Contract Signed: 12/11/08 OK to start date: 1/5/09 Slab Finished:14/5/09 Frame Finished: 12/06/09 Re: Fencing & Retaining walls in SA 3Nov 14, 2009 10:46 am I've rang around and asked in store, but I've always got a slightly different answer. So what I'd like to ask you guys is... I am putting in retaining at the back of my block, but as I need good neighbor fencing, it needs to go on top of the RSJ's. I've been told the width of the fence is 2370mm from one place and 2350mm from another. Also to place the RSJ's for the retaining wall at 2420mm or 2410mm. Could someone point me in the right direction as on the stracto site is says the good neighbor fencing is 2350mm or 2390mm wide. So if I add a 50mm fence post to any of the given dimensions it still won't fit according to the retaining wall guys 2420mm or 2410mm to the center posts cheers DJ Re: Fencing & Retaining walls in SA 4Nov 14, 2009 4:55 pm I have just erected a fence, and got many quotes. Basically for good neighbour fence it is approx $1000 for 10 meters with the concrete plinth underneath. How much do you need to retain? If you need to retain less than 200mm, you can buy a concrete sleeper from better crete, approx $500 for 23. My fence was straco, we stupidly dug holes every 2330mm, as that is the width of the plinth, but the fence is actually 2350, so the time we reached 55 meters we were 1 meter out. oops. I bought the wavelock and it is definetly 2350mm. I totally agree with above about JR fencing, made a time, and he never showed, or rang. I also agree with the agressive comment. My cheapest quote was from fencing world near Salisbury, but I ended up getting a friend who is a fantastic jack of all trades to do it. The stracto wavelock looks awesome. Re: Fencing & Retaining walls in SA 5Nov 15, 2009 7:35 pm We have got quote from fencing world neighbour recommended - very competitive quote and nice to deal with - but they are very busy, so if you don't need it straight away - they are good to go with. Had retaining wall built (concrete sleepers) by David Bilibio - fantastic job, excellent to deal with and meticulous in how he went about it - definitely recommend - his details are on outback sleepers website. Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 39047 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6167 Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6064 |
