Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 26, 2009 11:11 am Hello, I'm looking for a house/land package. Initially looking at baysview rise, but hearing abt the pollution , was taken back. There are some area that under my consideration, such as mernda/south morang, sandhurst, lyndhurst and williams landing. But I'm not too sure how long would it be from that area to the city using public transport/train. I'd love marriot waters in lyndhurst, but heard about the toxic dump site on the area, am wondering if it's still the case? thanks for any info. Re: looking for new house/land 2May 26, 2009 11:20 am Hi, what about Wallan? That's where I'm building, 50k from the city, V line train with very few stops into the city. It actually gets to the city quicker than the train from Bayswater does, I used to live in Kilsyth so I know that's true! We paid 155k for 1639m2. You can get blocks in Wallara Waters for about 115k for 585m2 or 126k for 648m2. Simonds, PD and Burbank are all doing house and land packages in WW. Other builders probably are as well. Those builders and M3tricon will all have displays in the new WW display village when it opens apparently, so the area is really going ahead. Takes half the time to drive to the city than from Bayswater as well. Straight down the Hume. I can get from Footscray to Wallan in around 40 mins. The other areas you mentioned are lovely, but land is considerably cheaper in Wallan. Mitchell Shire is projected by the state government to be the next growth area. Good schools too. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Two other areas that have cheaper land close to public transport (10min drive or buses are available), about 30mins drive to the city, and about that to geelong (which is great in the summer when you want to head down to torquay!) are Manor lakes and Bluestone green, i don't know much about bluestone green but it does look nice from what l've seen, l have heard because land is really cheap you do have some bad types but l can't confirm or denid that! Where we built in Manor lakes we picked up 580sq block for $122,000, for us seemed like it was cheap! Heres some links! http://www.manorlakes.com.au/ http://www.bluestonegreen.com.au/ Another area which GREAT value land is Bacchus Marsh, you get an extra $3000 from the government to build there cause of the rural classification, my brother got quoted $120,000 for a block that was over 700sqm! pretty good, it has the V/Line train and about 40mins from the city l think, close to ballarat too, which to some is a bonus! Re: looking for new house/land 4May 26, 2009 3:27 pm If your looking at Marriot it would be around a hr by train, but i heard that lynbrook which is in the vicinity of Marriot is getting TRAin station in the near future. finally As for the dump its still there but not causing hassles . Theres plenty buying in Marriot and obviously not putting people off building and your also close the beach access and freeway Re: looking for new house/land 5May 28, 2009 4:13 pm We are building at Sandarra in Sandhurst - according to the metlink website it will be about 50 mins into the city (where i work) from both the merinda park or carrum stations. That's pretty much identical the time it takes me on the bus now! Land - Sandarra - Victoria Titles - * in 8 April '10, land settlement 22 April '10 Building - Santorini 26 by big m 13 6670 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6934 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13551 |
