What i am after is a walling solution or advice on building a wall in the green overlayed area in the pictures. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The room i intend to use (with the dining table currently in it) is going to be converted into a private study/home office for work purposes, i need minimal noise comming from the kitchen so perhaps a screen is out of the question, another thing is. Within the center of the green space there will need to be a door, at the moment i am thinking perhaps a sliding door? At the moment i'm hoping for some thing DIY and Cost effective This is all in thought and theory at the moment as well as imagination! please submit your advice and ideas, Thank you very much. Re: Petition on walling solutions 2Apr 26, 2007 2:00 pm Wouldn't you just timber frame it, gyprock it and put sound insulation inside the wall to make it a private study? But be careful of sliding doors they can let a lot of nosie through and around them. If you want the door is inside the wall, so either side of the wall can have items placed against it, then you need to use thin timber and glue the sheets very well so the door fits inside the wall and the wall still has enough strength.
