does anyone know if blueboard or harditex needs to be water-proofed after construction? If so with what product? I'm told you can render it but it will still be porous and it is an expensive process.

hey camelia we looked at blueboard as an exterior cladding with render but were told it wasnt a great selling point later on im not sure if this is true but i guess if i look at it logically i probably wouldnt buy a house with it on just purely based on the point i dont know the product therefore dont trust it.
it has been used on second storey construction for years and ive seen a few places with it and it looks great however i do worry about the resale aspect.
anyway you can paint it or render it but best place for advice is the james hardie website they have an installation and faqs section good luck
stay safe happy building
