As a business attending to small cases of water damage, it is the time of year when many people face the difficulties associated with water damage to their homes and other buildings. I have just done a few such jobs after a big downpour a few days ago, the first deluge for a while now.
Many of these incidents are preventable with proper maintenance. Have you cleaned your gutters yet? Checked that drains, soakwells and downpipes are all clear?
Also, it can be devastating for some that have major water damage, sometimes from weather & storms, sometimes from washing machines, dishwashers etc. Proper restoration can cost thousands! It is worth making sure that your properties are adequately covered by your insurance policies, BOTH property and contents.
And last word on this..... If you do have such an incident, (even apparently minor) DON'T pussyfoot around.... get a specialised water-damage restoration technician on site immediately. Your insurance company may be able to despatch a restorer. Just DON'T delay. The cost and level of damage can increase every hour until proper restoration is initiated.
Hope this helps!
