Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Where do you prefer your master bedroom?? 42May 05, 2009 10:47 pm In our old house (the one we demolished) we had our bedroom in the front and also the dining room, my wife always wanted to have the dining room at the front again as we look out on to a park, but it just wasn't practical, we are still having our bedroom at the front and kids (teens) as far away as possible, as far as safety goes we are having one of those camera thingys at the front and it has a memory card inside the receiver inside the house, it records as soon as someone pushes the button at the front door, this way you know who visited, when etc, I think we can also get to activate when the security light comes on. Re: Where do you prefer your master bedroom?? 43May 06, 2009 10:05 am I don't mind where mine is situated as long as it's not near the front door or off a living area. Re: Where do you prefer your master bedroom?? 45May 06, 2009 6:06 pm As this is house # 3 our preferences have changed over time. Our first few houses have been that we need the master close to the kids. This time and i suppose houses we build from now on we want the master to be as far way a possible to the kids LOL. Cause they are old enough to be away from us. We have had houses that have a font bed room but i think bedrooms at the back are nice and private. That way u can close them off when you have visitors John, Tarin and the Kids Built and moving in to the Regent Grande with Masterton homes http://thebrownsaremovingtothecountry.blogspot.com Re: Where do you prefer your master bedroom?? 46May 06, 2009 8:31 pm beattun summergrace IMHO, bedrooms are meant to be upstairs! House-To-Be I don't mind where mine is situated as long as it's not near the front door or off a living area. I guess we could forever debate this as my idea of convenience is different. Regardless of it, I grew up in a 2 storey home.......... I certainly concur with House-To-Be! Re: Where do you prefer your master bedroom?? 47May 07, 2009 4:35 am hello all, hello all susan here, Where do you prefer your master bedroom? is a col question but t be frank i preffer it in the back of the room i mean the last room in the home. Cheers!!!! Re: Where do you prefer your master bedroom?? 48May 08, 2009 9:38 am Our main bedroom is near the front door and away from the childrens rooms. My only preference was for it to be away from the childrens rooms because we have older kids. I also don't like childrens bedrooms at the front. So while I would have loved to have had our bedroom at the back enjoying the view, our children have that pleasure. ( if they ever notice) BUT we do have an almost as lovely, outlook from our bedroom as well. I prefer that the bedroom isn't the first room in a house ours just fits this criteria by about 1 m. The first opening is the lounge and then just a metre or so later on the other side of the entry is our bedroom doorway. Re: Where do you prefer your master bedroom?? 49May 08, 2009 4:01 pm I've always wanted mine at the back, but this is cause I've lived in apartments for the last 6 years and at the front is the living area and kitchen which are louder, so having the master at the back, out of that noisy area, is preferable. I have no kids (only cats), but my partner gets up really early and I find if the bedroom is too close to the kitchen and living areas, I get woken up and can't get back to sleep until she's left for work and everything is quiet again. So for me, as far away as possible from the living areas, but still with nice views and also not directly on the street IF that street isn't quiet. *not picky at all* lol How the hell did I become a senior member!?
