Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 29, 2009 9:30 pm I'm a newbie and this is my first post so please be kind if I break any rules. I'm looking for opinions/ideas on what colour scheme would be best for my 70s red brick single storey home. Can't afford to render at the moment, but it needs to be modernized! My asbestos roof is atricious looking but gladly you dont see much of it from the street, its flat and my home is set back a bit from the street which is steep hilled. Basically, until I can transform it in a 10-year or so plan - it needs tarting/tidying up! The colours I'm after are for; front fence which sits infront of old 5ft hedge which is quite bare at base of trunk (may go painted picket look or iron pool fence - need a cheap option) front iron entrance gate (70s era but quite cute for now if painted?) front iron double low swing out driveway gate (see above) painting metal framework of plain (bit rusted) single carport driveway (needs to be resurfaced and painted) front concrete pathways iron railing of balcony, front patio awning and patio concrete flooring front door timber shutters to be put up either side of 3 front yard-facing windows I've heard good colour schemes come in threes. I like modern, clean looks and was toying with red brick being contrasted with charcoal, creams, plain whites, timber features, silver zincaloom effect? not all of these of course! LOL I really have no idea - and then when you come to choosing the 3 colours, how to pick which goes best where? Thanks in advance for your ideas/comments~!
